How can i enhace my curly hair?

I have naturally curly hair. But sometimes it just goes flat, especially after i wash it. I like my hair curly. What can i do to keep it curly. I always let it dry naturally and it will go more curly sometimes, or most of the time flat. Will curl shampoos and stuff like that help me after i wash it? Any tips? How can i enhace my curly hair?
Buy products are are specially designed for curly hairHow can i enhace my curly hair?
After a shower i put garnier mouse in my hair then tye my hair up in a bun and sleep on it, then let it go in the morning and spray with hairspray. Be sure you have bout 15 hours to leave ur hair up because it takes longer to dry in a bun: ) hope i helped
There's a curling shampoo they use at the salon. You might have to buy it there. I don't know about over the counter ones. But you should go ahead and put curlers in your hair with product since it's not staying naturally.
Buy some mousse and after the shower spread it evenly through out your hair. I will enhance your curls and make them look defined.
Use mousse and scrunch your hair (after you wash it)
try a mousse and a lighter conditioner

works for me :D

How can I make my curly hair look like Alice Cullens from Twilight?

Okay On friday I'm going to a twilight party and I wanted to go as Alice Cullen. I've got the make-up down I just need help with the hair. My hair is short and curly hers is short and straight. So any tips I can use?How can I make my curly hair look like Alice Cullens from Twilight?
You could straighten it. Don't use the hair straighter though. Use the blow dryer and a good brush. Or you could go to your hair dresser and take a picture with you so to give the hairdresser an idea of how you want it. Have fun btw. :)How can I make my curly hair look like Alice Cullens from Twilight?
Theres two ways:

1. straiten it fully then take ends of the hair and kind of make a curve with your straitener.

2. straten it fully then blow dry the ends with a curve.

Hope i helped

  • How do i keep my curly hair straight?

I have naturally curly hair, which i'm fine about. But there are some days where i want a change and i want straight hair, and by straight, i mean dead straight. But no matter how much i straighten my hair, i can never get it to stay that way. For maybe 5-10 mins it will stay dead straight, and then it will go wavey and sometimes even curly again. What can i do to keep it dead straight? How do i keep my curly hair straight?

AH! same problem but I figured it out..... Make sure you get perms and make sure it has no LYE in it because, LYE can mess up you hair bad! and get a perm that has olive oil in it. after a day wash your hair. and after it drys straighten it, and get hair straightening spray so it stays straight.Put a perm in every 2 months.

trust me my hair is very curly untill I do that

Is it better to straighten curly hair a day after washing or two days?

My hair is really curly and thick and I find its better to straighten two days after washing my hair because on the day after washing its really, really thick. I wash my hair with anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner 2-3 times a week. Please help! :)Is it better to straighten curly hair a day after washing or two days?
huh?? my natural hair is the exact same as yours thick and curly-_- but idk wat u mean i straighten my hair as soon as it dries??? is that wrong???Is it better to straighten curly hair a day after washing or two days?
It is better to straighten your hair 2 days after you have washed it...

Because your hair will be more oily and when it is oily you hair stays straighter and is much easier to straighten.

How do you make naturally curly hair lay flat and make it not bulky or frizzy?

I have naturally curly hair from my dads side - an African

and think hair from my mother. I have tried everything- from chemically straightening to thinning ( im getting more off on the 3rd ) but nothing really seems to work. Is there an inexpensive way to make my hair gorgeous curls without it being pretty but too much of it aka: HUGE?!How do you make naturally curly hair lay flat and make it not bulky or frizzy?
when you straighten, curve the straightener down a little, not enough to make a huge curve, then just straighten the ends once you are done to remove the dent from the straightener. also, using a heat styling product in your hair will prevent damage from the over-use of heat. Try Matrix vavoom gold heat spray, it's absolutely amazing on hair and smells great.l I am in cosmetology school and we use this all the time and never have any frizz. you can find it at Sally's beauty or online. How do you make naturally curly hair lay flat and make it not bulky or frizzy?

i have the same problem. i have found that using a serum, like frizzease calms the frizz, and then i use tigi's 'curls rock' line, and i end up with tamer pretty curls, instead of just frizz and mess.

I have naturally curly hair. Here's what helped me achieve hair I love!

First, I got it cut to around shoulder length (maybe a bit longer?). Make sure that the hair dresser knows you want your hair to hit there when it's curly, not straight. Get a few layers to help cut down the 'big' and 'poof'.

As for products I TOTALLY reccomend anything John Freida. Here's my hair routine.

I get up a bit earlier and take a morning shower (which I can't really do without, hair wise!). I shampoo every other day, but condition every day. So for a day I shampoo, this is what I'd do.

I'm currently using this Brunette Shampoo by John Freida that's supposed to make my hair shinier, but I haven't noticed anything extra-ordinary, so I'll probably switch back to 'Curl Around Frizz-Ease by John Frieda' Shampoo when it runs out.

Then I squeeze 'excess water out of my hair' like the bottle says and apply 'Curl Around Frizz-Ease Conditioner'. I leave it on for a minute or two, and then rinse out.

My third step in the shower is to use the clear glaze stuff by John Frieda. You should be able to find most of the exact names for this stuff on John Freida's website. This is also supposed to make your hair shinier, and I love this one! It's better for me that the shampoo stuff I tried. I love it. I also squeeze out my hair before using this, and then apply and leave on for threee minutes. After that I rinse out my hair and get out of the shower.

Out of the shower, I towel dry my hair until it's damp, but not soaking wet. Then I put in some John Frieda Extra Strength Serum. This is also 'Frizz-Ease', I think. After that I part my hair.

Then I take the Frizz-Ease John Frieda Spray Gel. I spritz it pretty generously in my hair and then scrunch all about.

Then I let my hair air dry. I guess you could use a diffuser if you had too, but they do add frizz, I believe.

Well, that's my hair routine and I'm loving my curly hair! Good luck!

  • How can I get my frizzy, dry, thick and curly hair healthy and luscious with extra shine?

I have really frizzy, dry hiar. It seems even after I get a hair cut I have dead ends again. I also wish my hair could have some moisture and shine to it. Also, I straighten my hair daily and it doesnt look healthy at all. Is there anything that I can do to make my hair healthier? Not only look but feel too.How can I get my frizzy, dry, thick and curly hair healthy and luscious with extra shine?
First off, you should avoid store bought hair products because they contain A LOT of alcohol in them that dries out your hair. Second, use a thermal proctectant to prevent your hair from getting damaged. You should try the CHI shampoo and Infra Treatment, the 44 Iron Guard, and the Silk Infusion serum to help with frizz. Remember to keep up your regular trims, every 6-8 weeks, or 12 if you are growing your hair out.How can I get my frizzy, dry, thick and curly hair healthy and luscious with extra shine?
no dont thin it. use serum, its basically oil and will make your hair silky and shiny. when i come out the shower my hair is all nice and wavy but when it dries it goes frizzy so i use fructis garnier serum. dont straighten everyday.
thinnen your hair to make it thinner.

to make your hair healthier, stop straightening it till you feel a difference
I had the same problem i helped the hair by doing this:

    When showering apply conditioner ALWAYS

Every week use a hair mask

Dont blow dry your hair try and get it away from heat when you can

Use a heat protector product to spray over your hair before you straighten it

    And if its really bad:

Stop straightening it for a few months ..I know its hard but it will help

Go and get a conditioning treatment from the hairdressers..these can really help your hair !

    Hope i helped!

How did my curly hair go straight?

My hair has been very thick and curly my whole life, but i bought a new straighter in october and ever since then i've been straightening my hair a lot. Now i've been realizing that my hair is not naturally curly at all anymore. The only solution i've had to fixing this problem is to shave my whole head completely to get my natural hair back, but i don't want to go that extreme for my hair. Any tips, answers, or advice????????How did my curly hair go straight?
Your entire body's chemistry changes every seven years, including your hair type. Thick hair can become thin, curly can become straight.

I have had pin straight gold hair my entire life, until one summer ringlets, perfect curls came in! It was so odd....but now I love it.

This is what might have happened to you. Leave your hair alone for the next two months...let your damaged hair grow out and let new roots come in. If those are straight also, I'm betting it's just that your chemistry changed.

If it is now straight, consider getting a perm, or asking your hair dresser what's up.How did my curly hair go straight?
Don't shave your head as that won't make any difference to what is going on. I'm guessing your use of this product has been highly successful in straightening your hair but as it grows out it will be curly at the root. The curl will probably come back slowly if you were to discontinue the use of the product - sorry, I couldn't tell if it was a liquid straightener or a straightening iron, etc. One thing that could change the texture of your hair permanently would be chemotherapy but you don't mention having undergone this.
you should try using hair products and shampoos for naturally curly hair. it might help bring ur curls back and give u nice healthy hair! and try not to straighten it quite so often. try to let it be natural or maybe tie it up every other day so u dont cause more damage.
hmm. it could be due to the fact that you'v burnt your hair to the point of damage. you can try not straightening it as much and use a deep conditioner.

    good luck

  • If you keep curly hair in a bun over night, what will be the results the next morning?

I have dry curly hair and I really want straight hair or wavy hair. Will putting my hair in a bun work?If you keep curly hair in a bun over night, what will be the results the next morning?
no prob not. but if you go to walmart (depending on where u live) and get a hair relaxer (next to hair coloring stuff) that can make ur hair perfectly straight depending on how many times u do it. but dont use it more than 3 times or ur hair will fall out in clumps. not always but its possible.

    hope this helps!!

good luck :)If you keep curly hair in a bun over night, what will be the results the next morning?
while damp, brush your hair straight and then pull your hair into a ponytail then wrap the hair counter clockwise around the base. secure with a few bobby pins. in the morning, when you take your hair out, it will be wavy. smoothing pomade works well to keep it from relapsing at that point. you can also rub john frieda's frizz ease in before twisting it when its damp, for frizz relief and extra shine. make sure you rinse your hair in cold water after washing and conditioning it for easy abundant shine.
Beautiful! Your hair will be wavy like Madonna's.

What is the best straightener for very long, thick, curly hair?

I need a GOOD new straightener. At the moment I have this crappy old Remmington straightener that makes my hair smell like sh*t.

What is the best straightener for very long, thick, curly hair?
The GHD flat iron is the BEST one on the market! Your hair gets soo straight so fast and shiny with no frizz!! Its very expensive (try about $ 225! YIKES!!) or the Chi flat iron is the next best one, still expensive at around $130, but either one would be a great investment and a HUGE step up from a remmington

    Good luck!

How do I quickly but effectively straighten my thick, curly hair?

My hair is really thick and also curly. It takes over an hour to straighten it and I prefer it straight to curly but it just takes up so much of my time. How do I quickly but effectively straighten my thick, curly hair?
Here are some steps to straighten hair in a LOT less time:

    1. After you get out of the shower, wring your hair out and towel dry it to get as much excess water out. Comb it (don't brush it, it damages hair) and put in a frizz serum ( I recommend No Frizz brand) and a straightening serum ( I recommend L'oreal professionel brand). The straightening serum works with the heat of the blow dryer to help straighten your hair.

    2. Divide your hair in 3 sections (more like layers) Clip the top 2 up and blow dry the bottom using a paddle brush. To eliminate frizz, use the cool air button and aim the blow dryer down. Do the same thing for the other 2 sections.

    3. Once your hair is completely dry, clip it up in 3 sections again. Starting with the bottom layer, put some heat protector on your hair and flat iron in sections. Repeat with the other 2 sections. How do I quickly but effectively straighten my thick, curly hair?
1.Brush out hair before taking a shower. Get all the knots out of that super-thick hair of yours, and don't look in the mirror.

2.Wash your hair with a smaller-than-normal amount of shampoo, maybe a tablespoon, and use it mainly on your scalp to cleanse and get rid of grease/residue. Use a more-than-normal amount of conditioner to hydrate your hair and protect it from heat. Work it through your hair, from the scalp to tips of strands. Rinse it out with cold water. This helps to smooth the follicles. Now get out of the shower before you freeze to death.

3.Gather your hair and gently wring out the excess water over the sink. Comb, never brush, your hair to get tangles out.

4.Take a round brush that has some hold, or grip to it, and start blow drying. Always use the medium (never high) heat setting, but the air flow setting can be turned up to high or whatever you like, if you have those options. Section off your hair (horizontally of course) and begin with the hair at the back of your neck and work up to the crown of your head. Part hair into five sections if it's really thick, although you may only need two sections. start with the hair on the bottom and work to the top, pulling the hair taut with the round brush and following it with the dryer. Do this until your hair is completely dry, or you may totally fry your hair with the flat iron.

5.Turn the heat on your flat-iron up to the second or third highest heat for thick hair, and the lower settings for thinner hair. While waiting for it to heat up, apply a heat protection spray or serum evenly on your hair.

6.Section your hair once again and work up to the crown of your head. Clamp the flat iron on a strand of hair and pull to the ends of hair. Curling the iron slightly inwards at the tips will give your hair a softer edge. You may need to go over a section of hair up to five times, but go slow and it will straighten better. If you have gone over five times and that strand is still curly or wavy, wait and move onto another strand. Give it a chance to cool off and then attempt again. You may want to apply a serum or cream after each section to smooth it down and hydrate it, but don't use too much or your hair will look greasy and weighed down.

7.Enjoy your shiny, straight hair. You may want to have someone help you with the back of your head, or take a mirror and check to see if the back is wavy or curly. After you're satisfied, brush or comb your hair and apply a teeny bit of serum or cream to the top layer, but again don't use too much or your hair will be greasy.
was your hair with shampoo only and spray on some heat protecting spray. the rub it with a towel and brush it out. blow dry it while brushing it as straight as possible. then put on some hair cream (try sunsilk straighten up creme) , but only a dime sized amount. then, using a professional straightener like CHI, solia or sedu, straighten at a temp around 390 F. after that rub some hair serum on and use a tiny tiny bit of hairspray to make it stay then brush it out again
my hair is curly 2 and i get soooo annoied that most people dry and straighten there hair in half an hour! we will never do this but blow drying your hair straight then straighten, smaller sections work best as if one big section goes curly the rest of your hair will change to fit the same shape..use high heat straightners, always keep your parting in the same side as you natural wave goes+never try fringes or side fringes as your natural lick will bounce back.. after you have finally finished it!!! spray a strong hold hairspray on you hands then quickly onto ur hair especially the thinner ends as they will flick...get your hair thinned by the hairdresser as often as you can :)
straighten your hair while its wet and then blow it dry. straighten it again. my friend told me this a few days ago.

but you should probably do it in the morning because if you sleep on it......it wont be as straight.

Keep a spray bottle with you with a little gel in it and re-wet your hair after it gets wind blown. ( or use wet hands) Don't separate the curls after your hair is dry. Ask other girls in your neighborhood what they use because the weather in your area makes a big difference.
You probably need to try a different type of shampoo and conditioner. You need one that will put alot of moisture back into your hair.
brush it only when it's wet. Once you apply products and styling gels etc. do not brush it or comb it or even pick it. Avoid running your fingers through it becuase that will fluff it out even more! Try this, once it is wet and when it looks right, try spraying it all over the top with spritz hairspray and then don't touch it. You can go all day like that. Avoid too much spray!

    Good luck.
    braid it?

  • How do I get rid of curly hair?

I have naturally virgin curly hair. I don't use relaxers. I recently use some Sunsilk Anti-poof cream and some Loreal Hot Straight Straightening heat protection cream. I blow dry my hair then flat iron it. Then I use a hot comb for the edges but I STILL FEEL SOME OF MY CURLY PATTERN IN MY HEAD! It like semi-straight and curly. I tried put some more straightening cream and blow-drying it in small sections but it doesn't work. How do I get rid of it and make it straight? How do I get rid of curly hair?
I would say leave it, that I am sure your hair is beautiful as is. I love ethnic hair. You can compromise and leave it wavy, and not perfectly straight.

Just make sure you want to do this for yourself, and not for anyone else. How do I get rid of curly hair?
be thankful for your hair i sometimes wish 4 curly hair but um use profectiv hair cream it protects heat damage and dead ends because using the hot iron alot could also cause you hair 2 get poofy and curly even more tangled well here is a solution all ways when you do your hair keep it a little damp lettin you hair stay moisturized then put the profectiv on your roots and your ends then you can flat iron it you hair will lay alot flatter and even SHINE!!!! hopes this helps a lot
some hair is not meant to be 'dead' straight. work with your natural hair as much as possible. to try to 'make' it do something which is unnatural (like applying chemical straighteners/ relaxers might permanently damage your scalp and hair.
Stop eating the crusts on your sandwiches
Try a relaxer for ethnic hair, I used one on my friends hair she is caucasian with hispanic heritage her hair is kind of wavy and it straightened out for her. You might be able to use a kiddy one depending on how curly your hair is
Buy a hair straitener from wal mart or even a drug store. or get it perfesonaly straightened
my hair is like that so i get my done for 20 dollars and all i do is wash it and than blow dry it than grease than press it with a pressing comb. if you need to buy a pressing comb try Wall-mart there are to kinds there's an electrical one u plug into the wall and there's a just a comb one that you put in a curling iron heater or on the stove.
Hair straighteners are very big in Australia at the moment for women but i must admit that i do the sides of my head to stop big curls.

Its like a pair of tongs that heat up very easy to use and not that expensive. depends where u r but u can buy cheap ones from Kmart or Target or better ones from the salon (if u have very thick curly hair i would say that u will need a good one and use it very hot)

if u cant get one where u live then i would suggest eBay.au

    Good luck
For Naturly curly hair, there's not too much you can really do but my hair is the same way, and very long, but i find it best to braid your hair kind of tight so that the waves are restricted and the weight of your hair will let it hang straight. If you need to, put some scrunchies or whatever down the length of your hair cause that will keep the hair straight as well. If you do that for a long enough time, it will begin to straighten out slowly.
I'll trade you. I have the straightest, curl resistant hair (perms wont even take). If you want it, its yours baby. I have always wanted curly hair and would do anything to have your problem. Learn to love it.

How can I wear a headband or pull off a clip with a poof/bump? Its thick and tends to get frizzy! How do I style shoulder length curly hair?
get a medium hold gel, when your hair is wet put the gel all over, buy a diffuser for the end of your blowdryer, to finalize i personally love the aussie sprunch spray. After that you'll be able to manage it better so you won't even have to wear a clip or headband unless for fashion purposes. How do I style shoulder length curly hair?

i have curly hair too, i use herbal essences frizzness, and it makes your curls bouncy and silky, and easier to brush. So it is easier to style ur hair.
Forget the headband its not gonna happen. At least not untill your hair gets longer. Always style your hair when its wet. I have the best luck combing with a very wide tooth comb when wet, add a little no frizz gel get your hair in the clip while still wet and DONT comb it again. It works for me!

How to define curly hair when its dry?

Our 2 year old has naturally curly hair. When we use a brush or wide tooth/afro comb it goes frizzy and we always tie it up.However if we put moose on it when it is wet it forms lovely curls and waves. What can i use on it to get the same effect but without wetting it every morning? Most mooses say ';use on wet hair'; and i want something i can use on it when its dry.Thank you.How to define curly hair when its dry?

    oil.
Ive always had very curly hair, bane of my life. and I find if I wash it, use a leave in conditioner and then run my fingers through it , it will curl as you suggested.

also don't brush it, just tweak it with your fingers. although I do find gently combing with an Afro is OK, fingers are best. you don't need products especially on a babe
she's 2 years old!!!!!!! thats nuts to wanna put a load of rubbish in her hair already. when my little sisters came olong they had leave in conditioner which can help to comb it an give it a nicer looking condition and will only excenuate her natural style

I had the same kind of hair just do different hairstyles shes way too young to get involved in the fashion and style world. Give it another 10 years and she'll experiment herself.
I like the leave in conditioner( Infusion), I keep some in a spray bottle just for spraying on my dry hair to calm the frizzes and define the curls. brush hair first, spray on conditioner, scrunch with hands and go, drys quickly. Good Luck!
Use a little styling gel like a freeze gel., but make sure its alcohol free
Okay so from what im hearing you have very curly hair that can be tamed by using the right products and using the right methods for styling, first of all, after you wash your hair i would blow dry it with a round brush and make sure you use a heat protectant, Preferably De Lorenzo, theres another way, which is using a GHD Straightener which will work if you curl your hair with a straightener it will give you this effect if you do it correctly http://www.jlo.net/images/jlomagad.jpg with all the products you need. How to get curly hair preferably without heat?

I would like curly for a night out on the town but I can''t use a curling iron because it takes too long as i have really thick hair. Does anyone have any suggestions? How to get curly hair preferably without heat?
The night before you want to go out, wash your hair and apply gel then put rollers in your hair, go to bed( not very comfortable) in the morning take out the rollers and style. You can also do this the day of and blow your hair dry.How to get curly hair preferably without heat?
Have you ever tried Caruso Steam Rollers? They're AMAZING!! I adore them and so do my clients. They're plastic rods covered with sponge that you set on a little steamer, roll your hair up, and cap off. Let set for 20 minutes and you have curls that last and last! They never get hotter than a warm wet washcloth and so it's not bad for your hair!

One thing they don't tell you on the directions - sort of the secret trick to them - is that you should put the little caps on the steamer for about eight seconds, then shake the excess water off quickly (not long enough to cool the cap down) and cap the roller. Then all you do is put on makeup or get dressed or do whatever for about 20 minutes, take them out, and style as you like. The rollers are really light and they don't smell bad like some wax-filled plastic hot-rollers tend to.

The sets normally don't come with many rollers and you may need more than what they give you if you have thick hair. You can find Caruso Steam Rollers at any Sally Beauty Supply, or look them up on the web.
try rags if you use an old pillow case the strips need to be about 2-3cm wide and double the length of your hair you may need help wrap your hair around the half of the rag then wrap the other half around then tie at the bottom of your hair (you need to pull quite tight on the both ends of the rags ) leave them in all night and next morning your hair will be in ringlets just run your fingers through it and it should be curly make sure your hair is wet when you put rags in it does work i used to do this to my daughter.
After washing your hair but it into plats sleep with them in and fetch out the plats in the morning and youre hair will be gorgeous. I do this to my childrens hair all the time and they love it!
CURL IT USE HEAT! WASH IT ND SLEEP WITH IT WET SO IT DRYS NATUARLLY ITLL WORK

None of those products help hair grown faster, and can even damage hair, causing the oposite to happen. Eating healthy is the only way I know to improve hair. Vitamins also, a good multi vitamin shoud help, ask mom or Dr which is best for you. Trust me about the vitamins..been on prenats several times...hair grows like a weed...donated to LocksOfLove 2 times in the past 4 years (minimum 10 inch donation each time and never had my hair above shoulders)I have short curly hair and I need help on how do I grow my Hair faster?
Eat your protein. To consume more: -Eat your meat first. -Try two boiled eggs for breakfast, everyday. Try the website for a change of life you'll never belive is true.
Try prenatal vitamins (i know it sounds wierd), or Hair, Skin, and Nails. I'm using those and they seem to work great.

    Good luck :)

rubberbands and pigtails...... strecthing the hair will help it grow...... also try trimming it on a full moon. Sounds corny but an old remedy!
For the frizziness, Herbal essences frizz control spray-on gells, leave-in creams, and shampoos work.

Of course the quickest way (If you only want it for a single event) would be professionally applied ';Hair Extensions';. They're not cheap though. Vitamins such as A D and E are important for healthy hair and nails, and will cause both to grow as fast as they can naturally. A balanced diet is also important. Stay away from Tobacco and Alcohol as they decrease circulation to the scalp (and everywhere else).
Lavender oil has been shown to increase hair growth so massage the oil once a week and soak for 30 minutes before washing. Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c/a> for more details.

  • I am a teen boy with curly hair and am wondering is it bad to wash my hair everyday with only conditioner?

I also exercise a lot, so is sweat bad for hair? Also sometimes I wear a hat while I exercise, is that bad, but please really answer my first question, is it bad to wash my hair everyday with only conditioner? Also what would be the best Cnditioner, I am currently using Suave conditioner.I am a teen boy with curly hair and am wondering is it bad to wash my hair everyday with only conditioner?
Suave is great. And I LOVEE guys with curly hair. Very cute. :)

Okay, um I would just get a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. It wouldn't take any longer than just using one. And it would do the same things for you.

No, I don't think its bad to wear a hat while you work out. And yes I do think that only using conditioner would make your hair greasy.

Hope I helped! :)I am a teen boy with curly hair and am wondering is it bad to wash my hair everyday with only conditioner?
While it is true that there are no apocrine sweat glands on the scalp, you are better off just washing your hair with water than coating conditioner on top of the caked on eccrine sweat and sebum(hair oil) that is never removed. Sweating isn't bad for hair and washing your hair with shampoo every time you shower is not bad even if it is several times a day. Wearing a hat while exercising is not bad and can be helpful if it offers protection from the sun. Athletic guys generally don't wear long hair like a girl so it really doesn't matter how many times a guy shampoos his hair because his hair is going to be cut off and replaced every few months or at least every year for almost all guys, not like most girls who have several years of hair growth that is exposed to not only shampoo but sun, blow drying, smog and other environmental contaminants etc. Sebum is acidic with a pH in the mid 4 range. Most shampoos are alkaline with harsher shampoos usually more alkaline. Conditioner returns the hair stripped of its natural oil to an acidic state close to sebum. I liked humectress when I had long hair when I was 13 -14 but after I started wearing a taper cut, ivy league or crew cut, it really didn't make that much difference and I now use trader joe's and a few others.
Use a 2 in one becasue shampoo washes your hair and just using conditioner just will make it worse! It's fine that you wear a hat just the sweat will go onto that instead so wash your hat alot! Most conditioners are good but always use some type of shampoo before conditioning!x

Hope i helped in some way! xx
It's bad yes, the shampoo extracts all the dirt from your scalp and hair, whereas conditioner only softens, nourishes and de-tangles it.

Basically, you have a dirty scalp and hair lol, seriously just buy any shampoo and use both shampoo and conditioner.
um all conditioner does is smooth your hair and makes it smell good.

i would recommend get shampoo because it cleans your hair.

you can get 2 in 1 suave. this will have both conditioner and shampoo.

    goodluck :D
    you should use shampoo, 3-5 times a day ;;

dont brush your hair while its wet .

    brush; massage; shampoo.; conditioner .
i agree with no. 1. guys with curly hair are very cute. yea have fun!

How do i decrease the volume in my Really curly hair?

My hair is extremely curly and i don't know what product to use that would keep the curls in and minimize the volume i get when it drys. I already use hair products that define curls, but maybe i should just switch to something like a relaxer?? Also I'm only 14 so is there any cute hair style i could do with curly hair that you might know about? Thanks a lot!How do i decrease the volume in my Really curly hair?
A good cut is the best way to get the poof under control. If you go to a salon and tell them to take the bulk out of your hair (thin it out), they can usually do so without you having to lose too much of the length. Longer hair is heavier, so it weighs down the curls and decreases volume.

I have the same hair type. I use Queen Helene cholesterol gel on my wet hair, then spray it with hairspray. It feels crunchy, but its not bulky. Use a chemical relaxer as a last resort...its very damaging to hair.

Finally, for styles, curly hair tends to look good as is. However, when the poof is too much for me, I make a deep part of one side, and smooth the hair back into a pony tail at the base of my neck. Brush it so it lies flat on the top of your head. Take the actual ponytail and fluff it up. No gel, just a little hairspray. It looks sleek, but very cute.

prob the best way is to go and talk to your hir dresser, and buy a pair of thinning scissors.

that way you can do it yourself
Hi. My suggestion to you would be to use any type of strong gel to hold the curls in. Another option would be to use mousse or hairspray. If your hair is really curly, you could use hairspray after you put in gel or mousse.
    Go to a salon
You could try straightening conditioner. The best choice would probably be straightening it. If it's stright it's cute to just wear it down, in a ponytail, or you could just sometimes wave it. Good luck!!!

i just ordered it on ebay for like 64 bucks. its cheaper than actually callin in and ordering it cuz they force you to buy 2 instylers and pay like 120 bucks for it at the end. its like in 3 payments of 40 bucks or something. of course, you can try it out for only 15 bucks and if u dont like it, u send it back. or u can go to ebay. i clicked on ';buy it now only'; tab and then searched as ';lowest price first';. :) they are usually over 70 bucks but if u dedicate time to it and keep refreshing the page, u'll find cheaper ones but u have to decide if u wanna buy them real fast cuz they get sold real fast. lol by the time u click on ';buy now'; its already sold lol. anywho... check out this youtube video. i didnt like the result on it. its a lil gurl with real curly and thin bushy and frizzy hair. it didnt work so well. imma buy it cuz i have real wavy hair. almost curly but not really. so im crossing my fingers it will work good on me. i wouldnt trust it much if i had curly hair after this youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK0RaIw30/a>

How to get curly hair, when i have dead straight hair?

I have long just below the shoulder straight hair,

i want to be able to mouse it or something to get curls.

But when i do this it, the curls just fall out?

Is there any tips i could use?

ThankyouHow to get curly hair, when i have dead straight hair?
    a couple of ways.

    1. use curling iron or old fashioned curlers in wet hair. The wetter the hair the tighter the curlers put in, the longer the curl will last.

    2. a permanant. It is a chemical process to add curl to your hair, takes 3-4 hours to do, (longer for long hair, shorter time for shorter hair) and should be done at a salon to prevent messing up your hair.

I too have dead straight hair and no matter what I fix mine with, it will look great and then you can almost see the curl just going straight. I get a perm, its the only way for me.

Straight hair has to do with the way your hair grows and no matter what the ads say, a shampoo for making curls or any of that other junk just doesn't work on stick straight hair. A permamnant works differently than the shampoos or mousses and holds for a long time. How to get curly hair, when i have dead straight hair?
you can use the mouse, but get the rollers out and hurry and put them in while the mouse is still in. Then sit under a dryer for about 10 minutes and then take the rollers out. The curls should not fall out..

If this doesn't work, then see a hair stylist and ask him/her what to do.
well, i am not totally sure this would work but what i do is i first put some mousse in. then, i blow-dry it. once it is dry, i take the top layer of my hair and put it on top. then i spray a little bit of hairspray on the bottom layer. then i curl it, then put some more hairspray on. then i let the top layer go and i do the same thing. once it is done, do one last spray of hairspray and hope it works! it does for me!

Any tips on ways to avoid having to wash curly hair after working out?

a main problem for me when i work out is that i don't want to have to wash my hair everytime i work out so it won't become too dry. but ofcouse it is sweaty after i do (atleast slightly). and when i have it straightened it gets all frizzy!Any tips on ways to avoid having to wash curly hair after working out?
wear a sweat band around your head, it may look goofy, but it will absorb most of the sweat.Any tips on ways to avoid having to wash curly hair after working out?
    Shave your head. Bald is ';IN.';
Maybe coordinate your shampoo schedule with your work-out schedule? The other trick is to tie your hair up in a high pony tail to keep it away from the sweat. You don't have to wash your hair every time either: sweat is made up of salt, oil and water and doesn't stink if it is allowed to dry well as soon as you are done working out (instead, bacteria that forms if the sweat is not dried cause odours). Another tip: just rinse and condition your hair instead of shampooing; then create a curly style instead of straightening it.
only work out when you hair needs to be washed! its bad for you hair to wash it everyday and working out everyday cant be doing your body any good either

How do I keep my naturally curly hair fresh not frizy?

Almost everyday I wake up with fizy hair I use a special shampoo and conditoner for curly hair even when I just took a shower. How do I keep my naturally curly hair fresh not frizy?
You actually don't need a special shampoo or conditioner.. I just use Suave. My hair is ridiculously curly/frizzy/thick.

After you finish washing, run cold water over your hair. This closes the pores, lays it down flat, and removes some frizz. Never blow dry. After you run the cold water over it, towel dry rather well, then brush it [and not with a horsehair or a poofy type brush.. use a regular plastic bristle or a comb]. You'll need to invest in mousse [rather cheap if you get Suave from Wal Mart.. it's good quality.. pink/purple canister].

After it's brushed, run mousse through it and let it air dry. This also prevents frizz.

If you would rather use a leave in conditioner, however, try Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner for frizzy hair.. [grey bottle with the red cap at Wal Mart]

    I hope that helps.

^_^How do I keep my naturally curly hair fresh not frizy?
Get the book called ';Curly Girl.'; My stylist recommended it to me and it's changed the way I do my hair entirely and it's never looked better - lots of curl - no frizz. One tip - get rid of shampoo from your life. Wash with conditioner (it won't be greasy - promise) or use a new product from Deva called No Poo (I love this product). Washing out all the oils from your hair (which shampoo does) and not putting enough moisture back causes frizz. You can find this book on Amazon. Worth every penny.
OMG ME TOO!!! thats so weird. i fianlly started using the john frienda frizz-ease curl defining spray u use it after shower towel dry hair then spray some in and use ur fingers to create ringlettes or just scrunch it to get more natural look with ur fingers. it actually works. then blow dry it for best results expecially if ur hair is freaky thick like mine.
Right after you get out of the shower comb through it, then add mousse and curl creme. Try CurlsRock.

reagular gell just grab it and and scrunch it!!!i do it to use any gell u perfurr!!How do people do that gell curly hair?
    are u talking about scrunching?

if u r then heres a site that tells u how...

    http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art4/a>

just dont dry it if u want the wet look :)
After washing my hair I spritz Aussie Scrunching spray on my wet hair. I toussle and scrunch my hair until I get the desired look and then let it dry. I like to run my fingers thru my hair a few times while it is drying... this softens the hold a bit, but also gives it a bit more ';oomph';.
Well, they all use different gells. It depends on the person.
I use any gel... it is actually my husbands. The important part is that you need a diffuser. You put the gel in your hair after you air dry it and then you diffuse your hair until it is dry. Then you will have the cute crinkly hair. Good luck!!!
well i do that and the best 1 i have used is la looks it is a big blue bottle and it works great. and at the bottom it should say +10 thats the strongest 1
If the girl's hair is straight then the curls are a perm. If the girls' hair is naturally curly, they use a liquid activator and mositurizer. My daughter has really curly hair, but it will frizz if I don't put anything on it. So, I wet it and then put Lustrasilk Right On. It's not really a gel, but more like a liquid. I put some in my hands, rub it and then dab it throughout her hair. As it dires, the curls will stay in place and give it more curl. I buy it at Wal-Mart.
usually what i do is while my hair is still wet i drench it in gel and spray a little bit of hair spritz, and i wrap my hair in the towel again and wait for about 5 mins and its all nice and curly.

How can i control my damaged curly hair?

I have shoulder length dyed curly hair. After years of constant starightening my hair is completely damaged and is growing very slowly. Then when i go to the hair dressers when my hair is finally a little longer than usual they HAVE to cut loads of to get rid of all my split ends. I have no idea how to keep it in better condition apart from leaving it curly. However I HATEE MYY CURLS there frizzy and very uncontrolable help please :How can i control my damaged curly hair?
i have exactly the same problem and i'm fed up of hairdressers cutting my hair too short! i find the deep conditioning treatments you can get work quite well if apply them at least once a week and leave them on for around 30 mins. i find that when i give my hair time off from the straightners it does grow a little, but its hard to do this cos i hate my curls. so if you can leave it curly now and again, maybe when your not doing much in the day. Leave in conditioner also improve my hair slightly cos they make it feel and look softer. Also make sure you use a protective heat spray before straightening your hair. How can i control my damaged curly hair?
Try to make the most of your curls by buying a serum especially for curly hair, i think curly hair looks really pretty. Sunsilk have a range for curly hair the purple ones:)

Straightening hair a lot does do a lot of damage i know this from personal experience. You may not like your hair curly but think of the better condition your hair will be in.

use V05 hot oil once a week it isnt expensive and only needs to be put on wet hair for one minute.

Get it trimmed every 4 weeks and use cold water to rinse off conditioner. There are also tablets you can buy for healthier hair at a local health shop :)
Trim it yourself every couple wweeks. so you can cut your dead ends wtihout waiting months for the dresser to cut everything off. Also, deep condition it alot. Wear gel in your curls or hair spray. I'm sure it's not that terrible looking as you think. Since the weather is hot, where your hair in a bun and leavein conditioner. If yuo straighten your hair all the moisture is gone and stepping outside with the hot humid waether will f rizz it up.
STOP STRAIGHTENING IT! sheesh, that will defenitley ruin it, and when you have curly hair, your split ends shouldn't be that noticeable, you need to use Tresseme conditioner and Herbal esscences totally twisted shampoo, trust me, this will help, and then you need to use other products that will strengthen your hair. oh yeah, Samy products work well for frizz and damage.
well, you should try a straightener .. not only does it take out the curls .. but it also gets rid of poofy wild frizzy hair like me .. haha... %26amp; its not very good to keep on coloring it a lot .. try to limit that .. cuz then it does make it more frizzy and messy. or if you havent already tried this try 24/7 cream that u put it in the night it helped me a little and that combined in with the straightener in the morning should help a lot .. its helped for me %26amp; if your hair is still hard to manage than try not blowdrying it .. (thats super bad for hair) but only if you use it a lot)

but for your split ends , i no this sounds weird but you should (put mayonnaise in your hair for like .. about 15 min ) it should help.

p.s i hope that i helped you .. haha i no how that hair is i have the same problem but that seemed to help me !
they dont have too cut it..though they highly recommend it you can tell them no..i do it all the time. i am sure tis is silly to mention because you probablly have tried everything. but maybe just certain moistuirzer or some type of moose to keep it down. have you tried the product bed head ';after party'; it worksreally well and can make it less frizzy, because wild curls i actualy think are cute. good luck!!=)
Samething happend to me, but if you wunt to control you're curls use a product called perfect curls by loreal It's amazing, And Ohh if you wunt to keep your hair streight I recomend a Japanesse streightening it's like 500$ but it keeps your hair amazingly streight.
a great product you can use is aussie 3 minute miracle, it really helps!

you can also try leavr in conditioners

as far as styling products go ...

    -garier fructis smoothing milk

    -any brand of crunching gel

    -garier fructis mouse for curls

-and then there is this frizz cream that is sold at bath and body works and i thing the brand is fricatti??

    anyways hope this helps =]
well, dying it doesnt help. it gets all dried out.

get a trim more often. it doesnt have to be anything drastic like every 2 weeks. bur maybe once every 2 months or so? that way you cut some of the split ends off before they get too long.

you could try a deep conditioning treatment at your hair salon.
try this website! they are awsome! you can also find a salon in your area! http://www.naturallycurly.com/

How to straight and smooth dry curly hair with oily scalp and split ends?

With out making the scalp more oily or the hair dryer? How to straight and smooth dry curly hair with oily scalp and split ends?
You need to deep condition the hell out of your split ends. Straightening hair only makes it drier and it is easy to see the condition of your hair once its straight so it's not gonna look good. Then do a clarifying shampoo for your roots only. If you don't have clarifying shampoo mix baking soda with you reg shampoo. Do that once a week. You need to deep condition your hair twice a week with a protein pack. Don't leave it on for more than 20 mins and use a plastic bag and heat to set. You also need good products and good styling equipment. Bumble and bumble, bio silk, or pureoligy. You need a leave in spray conditioner too it works wonders. Then you need a ceramic straightener with an ion infusing blowdryer. How to straight and smooth dry curly hair with oily scalp and split ends?
Like everyone else said use a lot of conditioner, because you will get a lot of split ends if you continue to straighten your hair. I use sunsilk thermashine leave in detangler spray when i get out of the shower, let it air dry (if you don't want to use the blow dryer), then once dry i use my straightener. The best straightener i've found so far is the conair infinity straightener, you can buy it at wallmart (it comes in a 2 1/2 inch, and a 1 inch straightener). The infinity is kind of on the expensive side, BUT you will you it for a long time, and it WORKS!! Hope this helped a little.
I have the same type of hair.

When my hair is looking oily I use dry shampoo, you can find it at any beauty store. All you do is spray it in your hair, rub it into your roots, then brush it out. You'll look like you just washed your hair!

Before you do anything with your hair though put some type of anti-frizz heat protecting serum, John Frieda has a great product. This will prevent you from getting even more split ends.

For straightening, ceramic irons work the best though they tend to be a bit more expensive. My hair is rather thick so I work in layers. Also, since you have split ends the bottom of your hair will looks fuzzy. The best way to fix that is to take a curling iron to the tips of your hair so it looks smoother and curls under. For nice events I will straighten my hair with a curling iron for a fancier look.

    Good luck!
use aussy combination hair shampoo and conditioner. and go buy yourself a good straightner. to protect from more split ends you can get a heat protecting product (they r most likely sold ne where u can buy a straightener) and get routine haircuts
Well use a straightener but if you straightens your hair too often it'll lead to more split ends so use alot of conditioner.

  • I am a sister with natural curly hair. Anyone have suggestions on a good detangling conditioner?

My hair gets knotty after I wash it and I have to spend a lot of time just to comb it through. I wonder if a better conditioner would help.I am a sister with natural curly hair. Anyone have suggestions on a good detangling conditioner?
the afro-detangler is suppose to work wonders for natural hair. Its especially made for african american women with natural hair. the only thing is it costs about $50, but i think its a six month supply, depending on how much hair you have.

you might also want to try detangling your hair in sections with the conditioner still in it, the knots and tangles will come out a lot smoother.I am a sister with natural curly hair. Anyone have suggestions on a good detangling conditioner?
I would try Matrix Biolage Smoothing Shine Milk first. The conditioning balm works great as well with curly hair. You can find it at most salons or even the pharmacy.

What are some good products and tips on handling curly hair?

My curly hair always ends up in a pony tail because wearing it down just makes it frizzy and poofy...I want to wear it down but all the products i have tried arent doing the trick...any tips??What are some good products and tips on handling curly hair?
Olive oil is the best thing I've found for frizzy hair! I have struggled with frizzy type 2C (wavy coarse) hair but almost curly all my life. Now it's seriously smooth and defined! I am so shocked, I just want to get the word out! Just apply it like you would gel; while your hair is still damp; making sure to get the ends really well. (I use a small palm-ful about the size of a quarter around.) Use it for touch-ups on the days you don't wash. After a few washes; you won't need as many applications or as much oil. You'll see! (OH, and if it seems to get too oily ... just wash it, but apply the shampoo to your hair first and try to lather a bit before adding water.) I really am just so amazed how well olive oil works. And it is very inexpensive because a little goes a very very long way. I put some in a tiny spritz bottle about 3 inches tall and use that to spray it into my hand a little at a time and I don't have to refill for 6-8 months! What are some good products and tips on handling curly hair?
i know your gonna be like, ';no, she doesn't,'; but i had the same problem. my hair is MAD curly, and it frizz's when it's dry. what i started doing, was putting, gel, moose, and hairspray in my hair, then using the blow drier. don't actually blow-dry your hair, just point the drier at your hair and count to ten or so. then put more gel/moose/hairspray, then do it one more time. it should work. it did for me.

I also have side bangs that are almost grown out so what should I do with them? What hairstyles can I do with curly hair besides scrunch it?
Well, i have wavy hair but when i don't blow-dry it straight, i would suggest spraying it with Garnier Fructise Surf Hair for texture and put up those gorgeous curls in a partly-up do and let your almost-grown out side bangs, hang as tendrils. If you want a change for nicer occasions, i would blow-dry it straight and put some John Frieda Frizz-Eaze to keep it staright. i hope it works out! What hairstyles can I do with curly hair besides scrunch it?
An updo. Curls give volume to your hair, and they look good falling down your neck. I don't have curly hair but sometimes I sprinkle some water on my neck and I get a few curls. They look cute.
U can straighten ur bangs, and flip them over to make a puff. ur u can try to to do a messy bun look with a head band. hope this helps
Try a hairband. Most of them are cushioned, cute, and hold-hair back. My friend has curly hair--and it's about shoulder-length and she looks good with hairbands.
    1. Grow it really long and become an exotic dancer.

    2. Shave off those side bangs and don't stop until you have a mohawk. Become an exotic dancer.

    3. Rub the curls into dreadlocks and move to Hollywood in pursuit of a career as an extra.

    4. Sell it to a pubic wig maker.

  • Is there any way to make curly hair straight?

I don't want to use chemicals, and i'm looking for specifics, please. Is there any way to make curly hair straight?
I have natural curly hair also. The true answer is NO. You can do it on a temporary basis by washing it with a good shampoo, followed by a very good conditioner and flatironing it wet with a remington wet/dry flat iron, followed by a glaze of some sort to keep the frizzed ends from coming out through out the day. At least that is the manner in which I have found to work best. I have tried all types of flat irons with frizzy results. I have also used chemicals only to find the ends will stay straight for sometime yet the roots will fluff back up. Straight wants curly, curly wants straight.....go figure. Is there any way to make curly hair straight?
also, you're totally right about the last part.

hot iron- 3 times a week, 3 hours each time. Dont wash your hair between the days. Thats my answer!! I have CURLY hair
get a straightner... it'ls like a curling iron but flat and it straightins your hair
A flat iron and a lot of time.......
go to walmart and get a straighting iron and if you want it board straight get some frizz ease best stuff for curly hair it helps with fly aways but when you get the straighting iron separate your hair and do small pieces at a time
try using a flat iron. they're great.
there is a straightening iron that dries hair and straightens it at the same time. it also comes with a spray product that will protect your hair from damage. i found it at wal-mart.
    ya

my gf has done it twice
a straightner, they cost from $15-25 depending how good they are
A flat iron. i heard that the chi is good and i have a Remington wet to straight with 30 levels of how hot it can get. if you want to, you can also buy mabye a temporary straightning cream that will help it stay straight for the time you want it straight. there are also straightning shampoos and conditioners that work too.
Simple either buy a hair straightener at wal mart for like $20. Or theres another way its where you put the perm solution in your hair and in stead of using the curlers just keep combing it with a everyday comb for about 20 to 30 minutes then wash it out and poof its magically pin straight. I do it about every 4-6 months to keep it nice and straight.
i think flat iron should do.. also there is a special kind of hair straighter for just for curly hair. try using that. it really works

How can I keep my naturally curly hair, straight all day?

I have VERY curly hair naturally, but I straighten my hair pretty much pin straight.

If I'm staying indoors or a place I'm unlikely to sweat, it stays straight but obviously when I get sweaty my fringe curls awfully. So I'm wondering if there's any product or anything that works for this. How can I keep my naturally curly hair, straight all day?
As soon as your hair comes in contact with moisture, any kind of moisture, it will curl. There is really nothing out there to prevent it (I've tried a lot). If you always wear it straight you could look into chemical relaxers or Japanese hair straightening at a reputable salon. How can I keep my naturally curly hair, straight all day?
I have naturally curly hair too and I have a CHi flat-iron I straighten it occasionally but when I go outside it still gets wavy there's really nothing you can do but apply hairspray I recommend Aussie I hope this helps
The Chi flat iron works really well in humidity so your hair wont frizz and curl that easily unless it gets wet. I suggest you straighten it and put up in a ponytail.

if so what kind of products do I need? I do not want to put a permanent straightner in it because I do not know if I will like it or not. Any tips?Is it possible to straighten my curly hair just for one day?
When I was a kid I Had a neighbor that had long hair and her mother ironed her hair. She would put her head next to ironing board and lay hair out between two damp towels and would iron it. It would be very straight. DO NOT iron directly on top of hair or you will damage it. Use a low setting. Is it possible to straighten my curly hair just for one day?
Go buy a flat Iron. Wet to Straight is a good one by Conair.

    www.conair.com
Remington makes a great flat iron.....called wet2straight.....I got mine at Wallmart for about $20. Wash your hair the next day and your curls will be back.
if your hair is wet or damp apply hair serum or some hair straightner, then air dry or lightly blow dry hair. The use a hair straightner like from conair or revlon and straightne hair by thin stips so that you get nice smooth hair in the end. Hope you like the end result, if not you can always go back to being curly. :D
just get some studio staightning cream and rub in and use a GHD staightner
Iron it. That will give you a few hours of good straight.
I would recommend blow drying it straight with a big round brush first and than flat-ironing it. Pre-treat it with product though, like Aveda's Hang Straight. With Aveda products, less is always more so it's definitely worth the $. :)
all you would need to do is straighten it or get a flat iron and iron it out

today it rained and my hair was still perfect.

and its only like 3 or 4 bucks.

go get cha somee :)What are the best products for CURLY hair?
Curls are hot ! Look for a product called 'Frizz-Ease', this does relax curls and definitely gives you the shiny healthy look. (of course, all it is is some glycerine and vitamin e oil, cunningly blended with cetyl alcohols.) For about $15 you can have great hair for a year ... you only need a bit of this stuff to do the job. On moist hair - have a damp wash cloth ready, put the Frizz-Ease (maybe 1/2 tsp of it) on your hands and work it into the cloth. now rub the cloth over your head and into your hair - comb through, and repeat the rub in process. Do not rinse your hair again, style it then let it dry. So - it will feel sticky for the next day.

If you wash your hair every day (WHY) use plain water - once a week a mild shampoo (like Dove) won't hurt. As for Target ... I don't go there.
Got to be Frizz less.. you can get it at Target and it works wonders.. it has a little shine to your curls as well.

Use a leave in conditioner (like Sunsilk Hydra TLC, herbal Essance Long Term Relationship, or another brand you like) and Gel (i love love love LA Looks Curls Gel because it doesn't make your hair crunchy...by the way the gel is light blue). Mix the Leave in conditioner and gel together and spread evenly throughout hair (your hair should be pretty saturated with the cocktail). Then Brush your hair to make sure the product is evenly distributed. You can scrunch and air dry or blow dry with a diffuser...if you do that make sure you use a heat protective spray. I usually just let it air dry b/c then there is no heat damage and i get nice soft (not crunchy) curls/waves.What products do you reccomend to scrunch really think curly hair?
If u see this answer on other questions like this its cuz i copy and paste it it seems to work fer all of my frends lol

anyways use shampoo and conditioner that suites curly frizzy hair i use sunsilk it cheap and good. leave conditioner in

ok here r the steps i do.

. wash your hair with a shampoo and conditioner that controls frizzy hair and maybe you could even buy a wavy hair shampoo (i use sunsilk waves of envy)

2.Apply moose and gel on your hair not to much gel though just more moose. and a little hair spray.

3.If your gonna let it air dry apply like 6 hands full of moose of 5 or 4 watever u like. and 1 blob of gel and spray your hair alittle bit if dont want it crunchy if you d want it crunchy apply alot of hair spray.

    4. If you live somewere cold and cant go outside with wet hair put FIRST 3 hands full od mosse and 1 blob of gel. Blow dry your hair on NOT high but not 2 cold u know wat i mean? the stop the dryer 2 times and apply more spry and moose stop again and the same then dry till its dry lol...dont worry if its tangled it will come off with conditioner in the shower.

5.Now you can do watever style you like( i get my styles by seeing wat styles are on tv or in magazines or other ppls that i like adter you have dont the hair u want apply a tiny bit of spry and your good to go.

you could also look up Carol's Daughter products and mixed chicks. Look them up on the search engine.

My daughter is mixed and I use a lot of natural products in her hair to define her curls or to slick her hair back.I am bi-racial and have curly hair. What are some products to try to keep moisture and a healthy shine?
For hair type specific products check out these forums:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. I would recommend something, but I don鈥檛 know how curly your hair is. I know a lot of people like Kinky Curly's Knot Today and Curling Custard. :)

Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find reviews by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

    *Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels on hair; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once completely dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. • How do I make my frizzy, curly hair look sleek and shiny?

I have red, curly, frizzy hair, and i want to be able to make it smooth without damaging it with straighteners everyday. help! How do I make my frizzy, curly hair look sleek and shiny?
You can have your hair ';permanently straightened'; at a salon.

    Pros:

    really straight hair

    Cons:

not actually permanent (roots will grow back curly in 4-6 months)

    expensive (about $200)

really damaging (esp. for permed or dyed hair)

So that's an option, but I really think the best choice is to experiment with different products and wearing your hair naturally. Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. A great tool for finding curly stylists in your area: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

You could get a relaxing and glossing treatment at the salon. The result is straight, shiny hair for three months! Pricey, but at least you're not tugging your hair straight with a blowdryer and then flattening it with a flat iron every day.

They also make leave in conditioners and heat-activated styling products (Thermasilk) that are meant to protect your hair from excessive styling.
get sunsilk defrizz shampoo and conditioner and herbal senescence's extra hold mouse ..when you condition your hair leave some of the conditioner in it especially around the spots that gets the most fizzy then while your hair is wet put about 3 hand fulls of mouse in your hair..do your hair in layer while mousing for less poofyness sleeping on it is good as well.....this is if you wanna wok with them curl not against them...i have the curse of the frizzes as well this seems to work for me.
well.i would recommend a relaxer from your hair dresser but if your really wanting to not damage your hair thats prolly not best for you...although when i got mine it didnt get damaged that bad so you might still try it.other wise just tons n tons of product is about the only other thing :-/
i sometimes have the same problem and hair products don't work all the time, so i would use baby oil (not too much or it'll look greasy) then use a blow drying Straightener. It does help!! :D

I got this idea from a friend who also did the same thing.
It's really not possible. Believe me. Either it's going to look frizzy from the heat damage, or it's going to look greasy with products.

Try embracing the curly and you may find it's much better! :)
whewn you get uot of the shower or after you get your haire wet

    ';scrunch'; it with got2b kinky;]

    thats what i use!

you can most likly get it at any drug store!. . .

    i get mine at wal-greensXDD
you can try ceramic straighteners because they won't damage your hair....

    :)
get the japanese straightening perm. it lasts a really long time and your hair will be so much easier to manage
Check out http://www.naturallycurly.com for lots of great info about curly hair!
Well put shampoo and conditioner in it nand put product, like moose and stuff
Buy redken products they work really well or Bed head. Both of those work wonders (and believe me my hair can get frizzzy)
don't wash it for like 2 weeks
    Frizz Control Oil...

Its like $3 bucks or so ,
