either super short or long. otherwise it needs to be blown dry styled. and i doubt seriously he's going to do that.
he needs to learn how to use products.
ear length? if it is too short it will be frizzy, if it is too long it will look shaggy. i would go for an in-between look. also he can use hair styling things if he wants to.
