How can I make my curly hair grow fast?

I have curly hair and I love it. I just got it trimmed so it is healthy, but it is very short now. I used to have super long hair and I want to grow it out. What can I do to make sure that it grows fast? How can I make my curly hair grow fast?
i have curly hair too :^)

but it takes a loooong time to grow out, because it grows in ringlets which make it look shorter than it really is. i'm trying to grow my hair out, too, from an above-the-shoulder haircut 2 years ago...it's a few inches past my shoulders now, but if i pull it straight it's like halfway down my back! sometimes curls can be so frustrating! i like mine anyways, though... %26lt;3

What is the best shampoo to use for thick wavy/curly hair?

I've tried a few different brands that just end up making my hair dull and don't leave it with it's natural bounce, and some straightening shampoo's make it feel lifeless. What are some suggestions of good shampoo's?What is the best shampoo to use for thick wavy/curly hair?
I use Pantene Pro-V's Smooth shampoo. I'm pretty sure it's usually in the green bottle.

I have died my hair so much and I have bleached it a lot so my hair is extremely dry and frizzy and I have lots of split ends which is added to naturally wavy hair but after I straighten it ( which I have a lot of heat damage from ) it usually gets rid of the frizz but it makes it flat and un able to work with and with the Pantene Smooth shampoo it's so much shiner and smoother and it looks and feels healthier. I've literally gotten comments on how healthy it looks and never got that before. It's not too expensive either I usually get it at Wal-Mart or CVS or something. What is the best shampoo to use for thick wavy/curly hair?
Fine and thin

Wavy hair that is fine and thin, is easily manipulated into straighter hair styles. Your hair type also has the flexibility to be curled and hold that hair style easily. Your hair tends to be neither too oily nor too dry . . . just about right. Shampoo your hair with a shampoo formulated for “normal” hair. Since that may be hard to find these days, think, gentle, daily shampoos. My favorite is, Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo, it smells great and leaves your hair shiny and soft.If you have used any type of hair coloring try, Aveda Color Conserver Shampoo.

Medium textured

Medium textured wavy hair tends to hug the head, even when cut into layers. Medium textured, wavy hair, may be a bit dryer than finer wavy hair, and a bit more durable. If you pluck out a hair from your head it has a “S” pattern to it. Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo, again fits great for your hair type. If your hair is dryer, try Bumble and bumble Gentle Shampoo, this one also gets rave reviews., again fits great for your hair type. If your hair is dryer, try this one also gets rave reviews.

Coarse and thick

Wavy hair that is coarse and thick tends to be dryer and to frizz. Part of the reason for this is that it is naturally dryer because of the

wave. If yshampoo for wavy hairou pluck out a hair it has a “S” pattern to it. Natural oil

from your scalp has a harder time traveling down the “S” pattern of your hair to lubricate it, than say, someone with straight hair.Your hair type needs a gentle shampoo, Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo will do great and will add moisture to your hair. If you color your hair, try Aveda Color Conserver Shampoo, or if it seems to be very dry try Bumble and Bumble Creme De Coco Shampoo which will be the most hydrating of all.

Teri (the woman who created the site) has AMAZING step-by-step instructions for how to wash, condition, define, and manage hair exactly like yours! Seriously...when you see where she started with her hair (relaxed, processed, damaged, and frizzy!) and where she is today (lots of before %26amp; after pics on her site), you'll be amazed both at how beautiful her hair is and how simple it is to use her technique once a week. She has perfectly defined curls all of the way down to her waist.

My daughter and I used to struggle with finding the right combination of hair products and styling. Everything seemed to dry her hair out more, make it frizzy, etc. She hated her hair. Once I found this website and started following Teri's technique, people literally started stopping my daughter on the street to comment on how beautiful her hair is. She's so proud of her beautiful curls now and has stopped asking me to straighten it all the time. There is nothing better than seeing my girl feeling good about her natural beauty!

This website has EXCELLENT product advice, most of which is very inexpensive and available in your local drug store. Teri's done her research on the ingredients and will tell you very specifically which ones to use and which to avoid.

I really hope this helps!
I also have extremely thick hair that is pretty wavy. I use Dove Intense Damage Therapy shampoo and conditioner and love it! My hair is not damaged, but it helps to control the frizz that wavy hair tends to have. It also leaves it with nice sheen look.

I've also used Redken, but feel the Dove shampoo works just as well and is quite a bit cheaper.
I usually don't try to recommend hair products, as you've experienced many don't work, but DIL uses WEN shampoo and conditioner and I've seen results on her hair.
the new herbal essance one tousle me w.e and the wavy one from garnier are good. they really worked to make my waves stand out when my hair was longer.

it depends on YOUR hair, everyones hair is different..I have very frizzy wavey hair the things I like for mine is V05 deep recovery conditioner, BIG fan of that. smells awesome too! thats a weekly treatment. for leave in I love infusium 23 with the big 3 on the bottle and biosilk therapy serum but I get mine from Sallys and its just as great. for Shampoo so far I REALLY like Organix and the conditioner in the teatree! and remember try not to wash your hair everyday.. wash it when its dirty
Try mixed chicks...they have shampoo, conditioner, leave-in and hair serum. It worked for me and I have 2C hair.

The leave-in dried my hair out a bit, so I used to add a lil olive oil first and then put on the leave-in. Their site and Youtube has instruction videos as well as salons which sell the products.

How do i maintain my 2 year olds curly hair?

She has very fine hair that's straight on top and curly in back. It gets very tangled and dry and I can't brush it. I used johnson and johnsons curly shampoo and conditioner and it doesn't seem to help. How do i maintain my 2 year olds curly hair?
At least you are asking for help my mother had no idea what to do with my curly hair consequently it took me years to figure it out myself. First of all stop shampooing her hair, I know this sounds weird but there are actually enough detergents in conditioner to get her hair clean if you must shampoo once a week max although once a month is better. This will drastically help with her hair and scalp being dry because every time you shampoo you are washing away her natural oils that are needed to keep everything from tangling. The other thing you can do is find some very thin soybean oil and use that on her hair. Just a dab and work it through, this will maintain her curls, don't worry about putting too much on you can always rub a towel on her hair to remove the excess. If you want to revive her curls in the middle of the day spritz her hair with water with a little of the oil added to it and brush with a wide toothed comb; it will dry and her curls will bounce back. You should not use a brush on her hair especially if it is thin and certainly never a round brush it will just tangle. This is what I do with my hair and my daughters curls, it took me years to figure out how to care for my curls but once you do it really quite easy albeit different. I hope I've helped, good luck. How do i maintain my 2 year olds curly hair?
Not much you can do with children's products, especially their shampoo. I'd suggest if you don't mind, using a leave in conditioner, maybe something by Pantene. Just running a little through her hair after bath will make it easier to comb through.
I used regular kids shampoo on my sons hair. It was fine and straight on top and curly in the back before we cut it. After I got him out of the tub I would spray Johnson's %26amp; Johnson's detangler in his hair and comb through it. That always worked very well with his hair.
They also have leave in conditoner (the same no tangles line) you could try that. If you go to the Johnson and Johnson website you can get a coupon for a dollar off, so even if it doesn't work, you wouldn't of wasted so much money.
maybe try a spray in detangler. suave makes good stuff like that for kids hair, and they all smell REALLY good!!

    I have really tight curls

What I use when I straiten my hair, is a het protection spray made by got 2 B, it's in an orange bottle

How do I make my curly hair wavy?

My hair is the same way and I have to use moose in it while it is wet I always try to use the moose that says to make curly hair wavy. I also try to scrunch it with moose. the day b4 you want your hair to be curly, wash it then dont dry it, but twist parts into balls and tie them up. you will end up having heaps of pom pom things on your head lol. in the morning take it out and it should be curly - if its too curly then wait for it to drop, then hairspray it to stay.

or if you can, do small braids with your hair while its wet the take them out in the morning.
you could use a curling shampoo and conditioner. these enhance the curls. next you could use i curling mousse and scrunch your hair after you wash it. you could also curl it, but that can take awhile. just follow my advice and i guarentee it will look so good!
You can use hot curlers. They don't take that long take all you have to do is pop them in and wait about 5 minutes or so. and you will have beautiful curly hair

Why do some people have curly hair opposed to straight hair?

    ';How did it start?';

How did every other genetic trait ';start';?

Evolution. Coarse, curly hair shields better from the sun.
i have no idea how it started, but I'm going to say it was here before straight because it is dominant, then a mutation happened and someones hair was straight. and how is it different? it has to do with the shape of the hair strand. curly hair is like an oval. and straight hair is like a perfect circle.

    hope i helped.

My hair is naturally curly too, but it doesn't curl nice if I let it dry naturally so I either tie it in a pony tail to keep it from frizzing to oblivion or put it in a bun.

At any rate... I put VO5 Frizz control in my hair after taking a shower or bath (on wet hair anyways) and after the VO5 I also put a coat of petroleum jelly, or basically Vasoline. I know vasoline probably doesn't sound like the yummiest thing to put in your hair but trust me, it's much, much cheapter than those stupid expensive brands of hair gel on the market and works waaaaayyyy better anyways and leaves your hair looking a lot softer and smooth.

So just put the VO5 in your hair after a shower, comb it through to distribute evenly through your hair and especially make sure it gets the ends of your hair. Then put the vasoline in your hair and comb it through evenly and your hair will look much silkier, don't put a whole lot of vasoline, just about a dime to a quarter-sized drop and spread through your hands and then throughout your hair. It worked for me and my hair is the queen of frizz, but now it ';looks'; healthy even though it might not be the healthiest. What products are good for dry, thin and curly hair?

How do u de-frizz curly hair without taking the volume away?

Hello! Ok so as I said before, I have really really thick curly hair, its mostly tight/medium curls but on the lower layer its like wavy. I need to know any products or tips any one has that can keep the volume that my hair naturally has while still de-frizzing the curls so it doesn't get weighed down I guess. I also need some more volume in my roots because sometimes my hair gets that ';pyramid'; shape. Thank you :) How do u de-frizz curly hair without taking the volume away?

How to make my scrunchy curly hair look good?

So I'm 16 and I hate my hair. I have Curly hair, but not like ringlets, its like ';scrunchy'; frizzy curly if that makes sense. But ANY suggestion with work

thanks!!How to make my scrunchy curly hair look good?
Specifically, overnight your can try ';plopping'; wet hair:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreadin/a>

If it's mostly dry I would do a ';pineapple';. lol, these all have weird names. Anyways put your hair up in a very high, loose ponytail with a cloth wrapped hair tie (also known as scrunchie). This will prevent the curls form being stretched out and stuff. Also to prevent frizzing and damage from moving in your sleep try sleeping on a satin pillowcase.

If you shower at night that probably has something to do with the scrunchiness of your curls.

Try showering in the morning and comb your hair out with a wide toothed comb under the running water. At the end, rinse your hair in water as cold as you can bear, then squeeze out the excess water. Lightly towel or blow dry (with a diffuser) your hair until it's half dry, then let it dry naturally.
i have the same problem! but the thing is when i do my hair i pretty much just take a shower then sleep on it and it gets cute little scrunchy curls. but yeah i think you should sleep on it then put a cute head band separating your hair from your bangs (that's if you have bangs) and if you don't just put the headband in anyways i usually love putting a rose as my accessory b/cuz when you have curly hair it looks SUPER cute!
Hi there I have the same kind of hair, you need a curl defining mousse or gel and a hair dryer with a diffuser. It drys your hair with out blowing it all over the place you kind of push you blower dryer under your hair and against your scalp. You get fab curls without the frizz. No joke!! Take care.
If you would be willing 2 get a chemical i would suggest a body perm set on big rods. but if you go that route make sure you go to a professinal who specializes in your hair type. Also try Trade Secret beauty salons their usually in the malls and they carry a wide variety of products that fit your hair type, like for instance frizz eaze.
This is my exact situation! Okay so take a shower and when you get out brush your hair. There should not be any knots. After braid your hair. In the morning really nice curls come out and you can do so many nice hair styles. Hope this works!
I would prefer getting your hair texturized.a mild relaxer that loosens your wave pattern so that its not frizzy and yet still has your curl pattern.you get it done proffessionally.
I have to wash my hair at night so then is crunchy in the morning. I wear john frieda ';dream curls'; for frizzy hair or do it permanent straight.
with my curly hair, i comb through it while its wet. try moose and a little bit of gel to try scrunching. I usually use something like sun silk for curly hair or spray gel while its still damp. I put just enough in my hands for it to cover all my hair, but not to much to saturate it with junk and i run my hands through my hair, squeezing it in a fist

  • How to make sidebangs look good with wavy/curly hair?

I have sidebangs, and they look really good when I straighten my hair, but whenever it's natural (curly/wavy) the bangs never look good! They don't straighten nicely and they look sort of too straight compared to my hair. I tried blow- drying but there's no difference.

Help? How to make sidebangs look good with wavy/curly hair?
Side bangs and curly hair can be a challenge - and sometimes straight bangs + curly hair can be a little bit of a weird look. I know how you feel!

Longer bangs are best with curly hair, as it tends to ';shrink'; when it gets curly. If your bangs are on the short side, try growing them out a bit!

If you find they look a little too straight when you straighten them, try curling them with a wide curling iron (2 inches) or a smaller one if you want. You can try rollers too. Depending on your hair, one of these options may look better for you. That way, your bangs are still ';styled'; as opposed to ';wild'; and will still be curly and blend in a little better with your natural hair.

Good Luck! How to make sidebangs look good with wavy/curly hair?
You should try to flip your bangs but make it subtle. Just take your straitener and bangs and straiten them but when you get to the ends of your bangs flip the straitener up and that should give you a bit of a wave which will make your bangs blend in well.
use a product like a flat iron syrum and smooth it over your bangs when you get out of the shower. Blow dry with a round brush, use the brushes made for your hair... for instance if you have really full thick hair use the brush for that hair type... i don't know how to really explain it but it's the brush with the hundreds of thin plastic brissels use that type of brush and keep rolling it down as you blow dry your hair that way as it's drying it will keep it taught and will force the hair to dry straight, if that doesn't work try adding a very small amount of moose to your bangs... but don't forget to keep the brush moving otherwise your bangs will look like they are from the 90's... and i don't think you want that...
okay u need to ask a pro. Ur hairstylist for instence. I have a friend and she has curly hair too she straightens her bangs with her curly hair and they look fantastic!! Best of luck to you! =D
Try flat ironing the bangs. You can gel them to the side at night and hold in place with hair clips. You can get them at Walgreen's, their metal and real small. They use them at the hair dresser to hold curlers. It will train your bang to stay in place.

How can I keep my curly hair straight?

Within the past few years my hair went from straight to curly and i HATE it. my hair has been dyed but as of now its been growing out for a few months.I also have stripped most of the hair dye out.

I want something to make my hair straight again without damaging it even further. I straighten it a lot so i figured permenently straighting it would be less damaging. Anyone have any tips or ideas on what I should do?How can I keep my curly hair straight?
I use to have really really curly and freezy hair and it is really bad to use the flat iron because then you are burning your hair. I went and got a relaxer and it helps me alot. Now my hair is nice and straight. I get it relaxed evry 6 months to keeeps the roots from getting curly and that all you have to do. Oh nd make sure you get a relaxr that is right for your hair because if not you can damage your hair. Good luck! How can I keep my curly hair straight?
The only way to keep your curly hair straight is to get a relaxer and press it inbetween the washes and I would recommend you use a heat protectant spray so that your hair does not become damaged.
You could try getting it relaxed at the hairdressers. As far as I know it doesn't really damage your har, but it does get very tangly. You could also try the purple sunsilk, you just comb it through your hair after it's washed and it stays quite straight. Good luck!
Have a hair pro apply a chemical straightener to minimize the damaging effects. Or, literally, iron it. best bet: learn to love your curly hair!! People with straight hair pay lots of money to get your curls!

How often should girls with curly hair deep condition their hair?

And what exactly does deep conditioning do to your hair?

also. do you know where to find Dove's ultimate smooth deoderant in the houston area? i couldnt find it at walgreensHow often should girls with curly hair deep condition their hair?
It really depends on your type of hair. My hair is curly, but very thin and doesn't dry out at all. Whereas, some girls have really thick, dry and crunchy hair. So it really depends. How often should girls with curly hair deep condition their hair?
Deep Conditioning is a step above conditioning. You let it sit in your hair longer, and it makes it silky and soft. Condition your hair slightly everyday you shower and then maybe once a week deep condition. It can do no harm for your hair only make it better. But if you have very oily curly hair it will make it more oily but if your hair is dry than your all set. Try walmart for the deodorant, I mean it's just deodorant.
i condition my hair everyday.-i have curly hair....

What is a good shampoo/conditioner to make curly hair soft?

i've tried a lot of shampoos and conditioners, i remember a few of them worked for my cury hair, but i can't remember any of them. help me out? What is a good shampoo/conditioner to make curly hair soft?
try VO5 products or sunsilk. also dont shampoo. wash with a conditioner so you wont strip your moisturte. that could be the problem there. What is a good shampoo/conditioner to make curly hair soft?
Okay, I am a Hairdresser and if you have Blonde hair get the Redken Blonde Glam, it is expensive but it is worth it trust me that is what i use and i have blonde curly hair. But if you have Brunett/brownish hair use regular Redken. I am always gettin complements on how soft my hair is.
    Herbal Essences Hydralicious!

It moisturizes curls leaving them soft and healthy!

Good luck and hope i helped =]
PANTEEN DEFINITELY!!!! its the best (for curly/wavy hair)
dove daily moisturizer for dry and damaged hair
i like to wee in my hands then rub it in, its good for the hair

How can i make wavy curly hair straight????!!!!?

I really want my hair to be straighter. It is very wavy and curly and i dont want to use a straightener. What are some ways i can make it straight without using a straightener and my hair is about 3 inches long all around. How can i make wavy curly hair straight????!!!!?
you dont have that much hair so just straighten it with a straightener! it wont take that long. or you can get it chemically straightned if you dont want to do that everyday. How can i make wavy curly hair straight????!!!!?
I would suggest not to get it chemically straightened, unless you have really strong hair. It's really bad for it. Use some gel or serum when it's wet and dry it w/a round heat proof bristle brush. It shouldn't take you too long, cuz my hair is really long and it only takes me 15 min. It gets my hair super straight though! hope it works for you
I have very curly hair and I use the dangerously straight pin straight shampoo and conditioner from herbal essences, is very good, leaves my hair soft and easy to manage. After the shampoo I use an anti frizz and flat iron it. You wont believe it if you see my before and after.

    Hope it helps.
If ur hair isn't thick enough though, it will break off and you will have a disaster.
Just buy a perm.........in a box and put the perm solution in your hair and then put then developer in when it says too. during all this just thouroughy combing your hair straight. Then rinse.................. Do the step by step process the box tells you to do but just don't use perm rods.

After all this dry your hair straight and then flat iron it. but be sure to put some frizz ease or some spray shine...........just something to protect it fromt he heat of the flat iron.

Then you should have straight hair for at least a few months........3 to four............until the roots start growing in
The only way I can think of is a straightener. If there's a serious health risk or something to using one, then don't. Unelse, just use the straightener. Sorry, but that's pretty much the only way unless you want to try straightening gel, which doesn't always work and is pretty expensive.
If you don't want to use a straightener, the best thing that I would suggest would be straightening shampoos and condtioners, like Herbal Essences or Sunsilk. Another thing to use would be straightening serums. You can find all of this stuff at drug stores.
well since you dont want to use a striaghtner,

you can use gells.or even you can get your hair

permentally straightned,im not sure where though.

my one friend got it done.

and it might even help after your down getting a shower

to blow dry your hair,it normally helps my hair stay straighter.

it really all depends on your hair.
You could get it ';straightened'; its kinda like a perm. It says straight for a while...just like a perm.
Pantene Pro-V has a hair gel that you put in before you dry your hair. And while you blow dry, use a round, metal bristled brush. So basically blow dry it straight. Your hair is pretty short, so you don't have to worry.
i don t think u can do anythin w/o starightning it sorry
    - Go curly! Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

    - To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sulfates). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

    - Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (read more about this at one of the websites) . Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

    - Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Aussie Moist Conditioner. The combo of products that I use daily is Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine Leave In Cream, Tressemme Clean Hold Gel, and Aussie Tizz No Frizz Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

    - Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!
You can get a relaxer, it is available for all hair types. No matter what type of hair you have, there is an option. It is a permanent option and you would have to get touch ups in between, just like a curly perm.

These are a bit pricy so if you are OK with a little work, get a flat iron. Be sure to get products made for hot elements. Also, there are products out there that would help protect against humidity. You can always go into a salon for a consultation, most places do it for free. They can recommend the best products for the look you want to achieve.
I had the same problem look up on webs for chi straighteners .They are expensive but they work. You don't even have to have grease cause it does it for you. I use to have to get perms every month now it's every 4 months. As long as you wrap your hair every month you're fine. Here's a good website.

and look for chi hair straighteners. They really work!
OHH!! Get it japanese hair straightened..It will last months=D

How to take care of curly hair?

So, I wash my curly hair at night. Now, I know I shouldn't comb or brush my curly hair because it will cause breakage and frizz, but how would i get those knots out? Or any other suggestions to take care of curly hair? How to take care of curly hair?
You can brush/comb your hair while it's wet and has conditioner in it (during your shower). You still have to be gentle but this is the best way to untangle curly hair. You can either shower at night and put your hair up in some sort of turban or shower in the morning and use a diffuser attachment with a blow dryer (or you can just let your hair air dry).

Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

    *Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Never use a brush, only a comb, or better yet fingers, when wet.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber or tshirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

For specific products for your hair type you might want to explore the forums at:

    http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. So that鈥檚 really useful.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. Try using a curl defining shampoo and conditioner.. it willhelp you control the frizz and the tangles..

If not use a straightening shampoo and take some of the bounce out of your hair for better styling...

As for brushing.. dont use a brush thats a little rough on curly hair try using a double spaced comb... its called a pick!

  • What is the best haircut for and oval shaped face with curly hair?

I need a cut that won't frizz my hair and is easy to maintain! Please help! What is the best haircut for and oval shaped face with curly hair?
An oval face is the ideal face shape - they teach us in school that technically anything can work for this face shape. I have wavy/curly hair and have been really liking it to about my shoulder with some longer layers. It leaves enough to be able to put it up if you want (so it's not boring) and it has enough length to weigh it down a bit (so it doesn't get poufy). If you're worried about the cut causing frizz - ask your stylist not to texturize or razor your hair too much - this leaves a lot of little shorter fuzzy pieces that can pop out. Some hair types, even some curly, can support a texturized haircut, but if you're worried about it, I suggest to go without it to start. If it ends up feeling to solid, you can always go in and have them cut out some of the bulk - and they can always do this with their shears, as opposed to a razor.

Also, use a good styling product to help prevent the frizzies. I love Aquage's Curl Defining Creme. I use it on wet hair and either let my hair air dry, or I diffuse it. Then when my hair ir dry (and only when it's completely dry - I DON'T TOUCH it before then - it can get too frizzy) I put a styling creme or paste through it to give it some style and to further define the curls. Hope this helped! What is the best haircut for and oval shaped face with curly hair?
Go for lots of layers angled around your face. With a cut like this you'll be able to work some gel through, finger style and go.
i have really curly hair that was really long (below shoulder height) and got bored of it... so last september i decided to cut it. i have an oval face and i did the hally berry short haircut! it looks really good and with a touch of wax it is really easy to maintain....

What should i do with my hard to manage light brown curly hair?

I take a shower every night before school the next day. When I wake up in the morning I don't know what to do with it. It sometimes looks like a whole big mess. I never know how I should wear it. Please help me! NO STUPID ANSWERS PLEASE!!!!What should i do with my hard to manage light brown curly hair?
I have naturally curly brown hair and I actually prefer to shower in the morning because if I shower at night I wake up with a bird's nest! Is it possible to go to bed earlier and wake up a little earlier to shower in the mornings? That way you can wash it and put in mousse or gel to help keep away the freeze. Also if you are going to blow dry your always use a diffuser. That helps prevent frizz and create better curls. You can straighten your hair but I like to embrace my curls. What should i do with my hard to manage light brown curly hair?
well, I had the same proboblem, i couldnt even straighten it, but i started using some different shampoos from pantene, soft and smooth, straightening, and ice shine. they really helped, now my hair looks great put up in a pony tail if i dont want to deal with it, or if i have 10 extra minutes in the morning, it looks great straightened
i think you should do messy buns or even cute little braids. those are really good looking. if you want a cute look!
    try a straightner.

    or

curl your hair with loose curls.

    they'll both look good.
Take your shower in the morning. Your hair wont frizz out
Check out www.mixedchicks.net. Great curly hair products.
I would rinse it again and put in a touch of mouse, combing with fingers only....let it dry naturally and be beautiful curly hair...you just need to make sure you have a good cut. Also...my husband uses biosilk therapy (it is an oil) on his naturally wavy hair....it really tames it and you only need less than the size of a dimes worth....you put it in before you towel dry your hair...
On those mornings when your hair is messy, wet your hair in the bathroom sink real fast and then dry it.
well, you should get a straitener if you haven't tried it. if you have , save up your money for a perm
You could try straightening it before you sleep. Then in the morning, you could dampen it and do a second straightening. Otherwise, you could curl it using John Freida or Garnier Fructis for curly hair.

I have Curly hair how can i get it straight?

I have tried everything hot iron blow dryer the only way I can get it straight is by going to the hair salon but it cost allot of money and i can't do that every day. Dose anyone have any tips?I have Curly hair how can i get it straight?

    Chemical Hair Straightening

    http://geebal.blogspot.com/2007/11/chemi/a>
Stay away from light sockets for sure!
    straight with a flat iron
your ghd doesn't straighten your hair?omg
try a thermal straighteinig, it will keep your hair straight for about 6 months (showers included) but then you cant get it curly until the thermal part goes away.

    p.s. it might hurt!
Get it chemically straightened. it will make your hair not only straight but it will stay like that much longer ( like months) and thinner.

You usually only have to straighten it a little bit, if anything

usually costs 400$ depending on salon or whoever is doing it,

and takes up to about 4 hours, but its worth it! Stays in for months
    use a straightener

! it can dry your hair very fast, it shouldn't take that long! it sorta also depends on how curly your hair is ,if its really, really curly, and long- cut it before you curl it- it happened to my friend before because she trys to straighten her own hair, and shes only 13!! so if you're under like, 17, get some adults help.... heres a website that could also help!!

    http://www.wikihow.com/Straighten-Hair-Q/a>
well go with the naturals... don't use iron beacuse it may damage your hair...

try coconut milk... it doesn't only straightens your hair, it moisturize at the same time thickens your hair because it has many vitamins which aid in the development of hair.

    hope this helps!
buy a straightener. it works. all u have 2 do is plug it in and straighten ur hair. but u cnt really wash ur hair evry other day. otherwise it'll b back 2 ur natural curly hair. hope i helped =)

For now, I recommend trying LA Looks and Herbal essences gels, Suave Naturals/vo5 conditioners (really cheap), Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Condish (semi-cheap but super moisturizing; found at organics/specialty stores), red Cream of Nature shampoo, and L'oreal out of bed instant texturizer (black tub; use under gel). These are all good things to try out first. Be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products.

First, some of the things that will make any hair frizzy are blow drying too much, use of ';mousse'; products, chemical damage and/or chlorine, and the need to change shampoo/conditioner.

If hair is naturally curly, it is usually frizzy. The answer to this is to get a product like a ';pomade'; (try Wal-Mart). Pomades have a low level of hold and have some oil in them. After washing your hair, put some pomade in your hand and add a little water for easier spreading, and then very lightly finger it through your hair not touching your scalp so that you don't get a ';greasy'; look. Allow it to dry and then comb through it if you want, or leave it if the curls look good. If this seems too heavy, get a lighter one or a gel, but not a mousse. This can work on straight hair as well.

If your hair is permed, bleached or colored, it might look frizzy from chemical damage. You probably need a deep conditioning treatment (but do not use an oil-based one) with some heat. You can try a gel or pomade. Use conservatively because chemical damage causes hair to ';grab'; products.

You might have hair that is very coarse (which is different from thick). Coarse hair is generally dry and can be frizzy. I would recommend using a hot curling iron. If you like straight hair, use a giant one or a straightening one. Hair is like clothes. When it is ironed, it becomes smooth and shiny.

    Try These Tricks

Always rinse with the coldest water you can stand after using a shampoo and conditioner for straight hair. The cold water ';locks down'; the hair cuticle and makes hair appear slicker, less frizzy.

Use a weekly home remedy ';hair mask.'; My hair dresser told me about this one and I have been hooked ever since. Mix one egg to one part mayo and one part olive oil. Make a paste and apply to hair. Wrap hair in a towel and allow to work at least 30 minutes. Rinse out and shampoo and condition as usual. Hair will have a smooth, shiny appearance.

Blow dry methodically. This can take practice and time, but it is worth it. Use a big round brush that will allow you to smooth your hair as you dry. Always blow in a downward motion. Running the dryer over hair up and down causes the cuticle to frizz and split. Divide hair into sections with curler pins and dry one section at a time.

    Cure Frizzies Everytime

After washing your hair, add a small amount of Natural Vegetable Glycerin to your mousse or gel. I add approximately a dime size amount of Glycerin to about a quarter size amount of gel in my hand. I wet my other hand with just a dab of water. Rub hands to mix the water, glycerin and gel. Run through hair and style as usual.

If you prefer to add your styling products to dry hair, simply mix the glycerin with a small amount of water to thin. Then run it through the dry strands.

the cheapest products work the best. If your hair is dry and frizzy, some of the things that have worked for me may work for you! Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner (88 cents) is great, as is a dab of All Ways Natural Castor Oil Conditioning Hair Dress ($2.49), to smooth down any frizz. These have worked better than all of the pricey products I have tried! My hairdresser even commented on the change when I went in for my next hair cut.

These products, along with some tips I picked up from the book ';Curly Girl'; by Lorraine Massey, have really helped my hair. If you're shampooing every day, stop. I shampoo once or twice a week at the most. I just rub my scalp to loosen any dirt or oil on my no-shampoo days and then use conditioner.

Depending on how dry your hair is, you may wish to leave some conditioner in by not fully rinsing it out in the shower.

Avoid products with high amounts of drying ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate and alcohol. Finally, once you've finished putting gel, etc. into your wet hair, don't touch your hair while it's drying. Leave it alone as much as possible. Let it air dry if you have time, and this will cut down on the frizz.

Do not use a hair brush. Using a hair brush on thick hair and ';frizzy'; prone hair will cause split ends. Instead, use a hair pick when your hair is wet, then finger comb when your hair is dry. In the morning when you wake up, if you have ';bed'; hair, spritz your hair with water and finger comb it into place.

Do not rub your hair with a towel when wet. Instead, let your hair set in a towel for 10 minutes, then take the towel off.

Air dry your hair instead of using a blow dryer or hair dryer (the kind with bonnets attached to a hose). This will also cut down on split ends. Using a curling iron or hot rollers is acceptable, but this can also damage your hair if not done properly.

  • What type of a haircut will reduce the volume of long, curly hair?

Someone said that layers will only accentuate the volume - is this true? What type of a haircut will reduce the volume of long, curly hair?
Some people confuse volume with thickness, yes short layers do give u volume but it takes the thickness out and it looks gr8!!!What type of a haircut will reduce the volume of long, curly hair?
It all depends on the type of layers. When you get your hair cut, first make sure you have a stylist who is good with curly hair. I also have lots of long, thick, very curly hair, so I've gone through this before. I do have a FEW long layers, and they are very slight. Most of them are around my face, to better highlight my face and not have it hidden in all the hair. Also, keeping it long will pull the curl out a little bit, which will reduce the volume somewhat.

Make sure you're using the right products, too. Good conditioners are a must, and get your stylist to teach you the best way to style your curls. I use basically all Nexxus products, to include gel. It holds my curls in place, gets rid of frizz (which was a bit volume problem for me), and isn't sticky.

    Good luck!
Layers will help decrease the ';poufiness'; in your hair by taking away some of the bulk at the bottom and around the sides, but it will also depend on how your style your hair at home. If you have curly hair, ask your stylist to give you a layered cut to minimize volume. This will generally involve cutting shorter and longer layers into the hair starting as short as jawlength. Next, they will probably apply an anti-frizz serum and a styling cream and twirl and sculpt the curls with their fingers, and letting it air dry. Using a hairdryer will definitely increase volume.
Layers may or may not help the problem I think. Depending on the way they're cut, but even at that, I think there's a better solution.

I saw on this show split ends when this lady had really really curly and big hair when the stylist pretty much fixed it. I really can't describe the process to you, but I think it's called texturizing your curls, and the stylist wil take sections of your hair, and start near the roost and going down with the scissors. That kinda thins out the hair, and you can keep the length. Since you hair porobably looks similar to a pyramid, by cutting more of the ends out, it will look better.

I hope I explained it right.

I am looking for a hair stylist that specializes in naturally curly hair. How do I find one?

I am looking in the Houston, TX, east side (Clear Lake, Pasedena, Webster...). I wear my hair short to medium length and everyone I have gone to in the last few years cuts it TOO SHORT and for a straight style. Please help!I am looking for a hair stylist that specializes in naturally curly hair. How do I find one?
Well, I would ask your local hairstylists, and specifiy that you want someone who works mostly with curly hair.

I have that problem, my hair is also medium and curly, so they cut with for straight hair then once you try and style it yourself, if looks like you're growing out a bad haircut.

Goodluck, I'm sure you could also call the high end hair salons and they can recommend somewhere, even if it's not in their salon.I am looking for a hair stylist that specializes in naturally curly hair. How do I find one?
I had the same problem. The same stylist cut my hair for almost 15 years. When I moved, I ended up driving 50 miles to the same stylist because I was afraid to have anyone else do my hair.

I finally started asking around at work and calling various salons til I found someone who had the same type of hair. After all that, my new stylist disappeared. One of the other stylists in the salon said she used to do her hair, which was the same as mine. I kid you not...I was terrified, but I took the plunge and let her cut my hair. She did a great job.
ask friends and if you do find a styists talk to them and ask for a certificate showing they passed beauty school!
Try finding a hair stylist who has naturally curly hair and has to

deal with it herself. Or ask someone on the street who's hair looks like the way you want yours and ask where they get it done.

    first off

there is no ';Curly Hair '; specialist.

Each individual stylist should be trained in handling curly hair and its just how to maintain it and so fourth. First off

depending on the texture or your hair I would say if it feels dry all the time you need to do a deep conditioning 3-4 times a week and when I say deep I mean when you get out of the shower put conditioner in your hair and sleep with it in then get another shower and rinse it. Once you have your hair fully conditioned you are ready to get a cut.

agaiin depending on how you wear it it can be varied I have never had my hair any more then an inch above my shoulders my hair is too thick to go shorter so i recommend you tell your stylst to leave the length and cut ALOT of layers.

layers even out curly hair and make it look most healthy.

no hair should TRULLY b the exact same length cuz every curly is different. Moderate the lengths and maybe try gorwing your hair out a little bit. I twill be a nice change and you can straighten it, I starighten mine alot I am very versatile but it is because I am the typical take care of my hair more then you ever know kind of girl. Trust me@ Good luck!

What causes curly hair to grow in that horrific triangle shape?

I am african american and recently I decided to stop chemically relaxing my hair. Therefore I went to a salon and had all the chemically treated hair removed. It's been 3-4 months since this and my hair has been growing beautifully but for some reason it's flat at the top and at the sides it kind of poofs out like this triangle/pyramid. Is this a sign that I need to go and get my hair cut or does this typically happen to curly hair. ThanksWhat causes curly hair to grow in that horrific triangle shape?
get layers. mine used to do that, but i got layers and it helped a bunch!!! now it curls at the roots, instead of 2-3 inches down from the roots.

How do I make my already curly hair even curlier?

I have curly hair at the moment but would like my hair to have more defined curls as they can be frizzy. Any ideas on how i can get curlier hair would be great thanks :DHow do I make my already curly hair even curlier?
Put a product in like a curl creme while your hair is wet and then spend some time twisting your hair into sections in the direction of the curl, different sized sections produces different sizes of curls so you'll need to experiment. Once you've got a whole head of these twisted ropey sections you need to just leave them alone until they're dry, if you fiddle with them theyll just frizz up.How do I make my already curly hair even curlier?
Hey!! The best way I know to achieve curly hair w/o frizz is to after washing with a curl enhancing shampoo is to use products that do the same.

I like to use products from Carol's Daughter, one of them is called Black Vanilla Hair Smoothie and another is called Lisa's Hair Elixir.

Either way you can look them all up on

Go out just before it rains. This is a scientific fact; people with curly hair's hair go curlier.

How to make my short and curly hair long and health again?

My hair is short and curly..well used to be really curl. And i had it cut into layers about 2 years ago and it's the same length. Also when i get out of the shower and it dries it super frizzy and dry. Anyone has some good advice to get it healthy and long? PLease! How to make my short and curly hair long and health again?
try hair oil; it really works! put it on at nite before bed and wake up and shampoo it off. usually coconut hair oil works the best but try others to suit ur hairHow to make my short and curly hair long and health again?
Drink PLENTY of water everyday - for the health and growth. (People lose focus on that and its most important) Also, use LESS shampoo and more conditioner. Curly hair thirsts for moisture, and unfortunatly, shampoo sucks it out, but conditioner treats it.If towel drying - make sure to use the towel as little as possible, this creates frizz. And, trim your hair at least once every three months - this will also contribute to the growth and health of your hair
I advice you to use burdock root oil extract mixed with yolk. You should rub it in your hair-roots and keep it for 30-40 minutes, ideally put a plastic package on your head (in order not to soil a towel) and cover it with the towel, so you should keep it in warmth, the effect is better in this way. Repeat this procedure twice a week. Besides, it is better not to colour your hairs and do thermal curling during the cure period. I hope it will help you. Wish you all the best.
Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the

time and it makes your hair grow faster. I;d say massage it into

your scalp b/c thats going to help the roots if you just put it on

the ends, it not going to do anything to it. You can find it at

walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water

to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should

use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it.

Even hot water hurts your hair.

Well I'm pretty sure the only way to make short hair look long is to actually grow it out haha. So to grow it out take vitamins and drink water like Miranda said. Try to stay away from hair tools that require heat.

^ Try some of those products. You can also switch to a shampoo and conditioner for dry hair.
first of all, trim your ends to make you hair grow longer. then use a shampoo without any sulphates or use something like Dove hair repair shampoos and conditioners, or use the Garnier Fruitis triple moisture shampoo and conditioners. I also use this leave in conditioner in my hair, which makes my hair feel nice

  • What can I do to make curly hair look more edgy?

All the current ';trendy'; styles involve straight hair and lots of flat ironing. Which takes too long, or is just a bit of a pain.

My hair is pretty short right now, growing out to around shoulder length. I like it but have done the same thing with it for awhile now.

Any suggestions? What can I do to make curly hair look more edgy?
highlights. :)What can I do to make curly hair look more edgy?
I have really curly, naturally curly, hair and I never knew what to do with my hair before. I would always straighten it because that's what the ';cool people'; would do. they would get all the attention before and I was left with curly, frizzy hair that people would call me ';poodle'; for. So then I decided to spend a good amount of money and go to a high-end, professional hair salon. I went there and they talked me through how curly hair is ALWAYS naturally dry. So the best thing to do to get that shine in curly hair is to use shampoo with MOISTURE, or HYDRATING being the key words in the shampoo. Or a shampoo specifically for curly hair. Another GREAT thing to do is the get a leave - in conditioner for AFTER the shower. This locks in all the moisture and gives the hair a beautiful finish. I would recommend a brand called ';rusk';. they are really great. Or even Bumble and Bumble. they're good too.

*the thing about drugstore brands (herbel essences, pantene, head and shourders....etc... is that they aren't' made as well as PROFESSIONAL shampoos are. All drugstore brands contain a high amound of sodium which dries out the hair immensely. So avoid buying drugstore shampoo when possible***

For a cut, i would totally do this.

Aim for something that will compliment your natural curls. Doing something where its about a centimeter below shoulders will give it a good length when it's straight and sassy/funky look when it's worn naturally curly. Have straight cut bangs (NOT SIDE BANGS!!!) done so that when the hair is done curly, you can have that edgy/trendy contrast of shiny straight bangs. Have the body of the hair have layers ( not too many tho... because it will look bad when it's curly). Make the layers like long layers. And have bits and pieces that will frame the face. This looks very cute when there are piece of hair framing the face when it's tied up in a ponytail!

if you have any other questions, feel free to email me. I can show you EXACTLY what i mean by the cut and how to maintain it. I could email you a few really good photos as well.
just let your hair down. tease a little top of your hair and clip it down.
you could blow dry and style it with around brush which will make it srtraight and maybe parting it to the sside and straighening it and getting side swoopp bangs.
You could try this website, www.naturallycurly.com it has people with similar questions who also have curly hair and there's pictures of curly hairstyles. :)

There's a Curlpix section that has a lot of different styles, I looked through and found a few pretty cute ones! Check it out. :)
wow wassup with some of these corny people answering this question... anyways disregard them gurl!! i understand what you mean by curly hair being so cutesy and innocent but their's a lot of trendy edgy things you can do with curls... and remember certain outfits can do alot for you too...

you could put knives in it :)
    Hi

I have hair like you as well and I do many things with it.

A few of the styles I get complimented on a lot are these:

-You have a straight side or front fringe and the rest curly

    - Add a headband ( black is best)

    - A cute clip that has those bows on it

    - Have your hair layered and get the first layer ( which is also the ends) a lighter colour

    - You can straighten the ends of your hair

These are just some things I do...

    I hope it helped :]

What it the best hair product for curly hair that is affordable?

I have extremely curly hair and naturally it comes with frizz! haha How can I keep the curl without the frizz? What it the best hair product for curly hair that is affordable?
Be Curly by Aveda. It's about $15 a bottle but a little goes a long way. It tames the frizz and helps form ringlets. Plus it's all natural so it's good for your hair in the long run. What it the best hair product for curly hair that is affordable?
Sunsilk Hydra TLC shampoo and conditioner (it's in a pink bottle). It's the best product I've ever used basically. Also, they make a 24/7 Creme that works great at keeping the frizzys away.
I like Chi oil if you don't want to put mouse in it, If you like mouse, use Treseme. You can buy it at any store. Chi you have to buy at a hair salon

What's the best flat iron for curly hair and somewhat thick?

Well my hair is not like coarse but it's not fine. I quess it's in between but like on the thicker side. So what flat iron do you recomend? Also if you remember where you bought it can u tell me? And I need to know the price range. What's the best flat iron for curly hair and somewhat thick?
get a flat iron that is 1 and 1/4 inch to get those curles flattened right out. I would get one with really good straightening power, and something with adjustable heat settings. Don't get a drugstore brand, there is always some flaw to those, and over time start losing protective technology.

I have the FHi and it is great but smells like burning hair. My hair is already pretty straight so I would have been better off with a wider width plate too, like 1 and 3/4 - 2 inch, oh well it works really good for curling and it protects and adds shine to hair.

You MUST get a flat iron that is ceramic AND with tourmaline or Titanium to put moisture back in your hair , or it is like drying out your hair. Best brands are: FHI, Hana, T3, Sedu, Solia, Hai, GHD...and don't get a chi...because they are not good quality. Just google misikko, or go to beauty choice or folica .com to check out some good deals...I would maybe not suggest the FHI if you do not like burning hair smell, I don't, but it does work exceptionally well and is a top rated flat iron.

I bought mine in a salon because it was 20 percent off and it was over 240 canadian dollars..I needed one asap and it was a very rare salon that carried it.

If you don't mind spending a little more money for an EXCEPTIONAL flat iron, I would consider the Hana Elite 1 inch for you as it is made with 100 percent ceramic plates. What's the best flat iron for curly hair and somewhat thick?
Make sure that you are using a good conditioner for your hair type and that you use a heat protector when blow drying and flat ironing. Walmart has Andis brand flat iron for $15, I also have a Revlon 1'' iron that I bought at Walgreens for $12 reg $30. I prefer to use the Andis, both are ceramic.
Go to Sally's beauty supply they have flat irons that aren't expensive but if you don't mind spending about $110 chi is the best. you have to separate hair into sections starting at the back and bottom to top for best results after you shampoo hair blow dry using a brush takes less time
    uhm. actually.

it really depends on your budget.

but for good results, try a CHI flat iron.

How do I get my naturally spirally curly hair to relax a little into smoother and looser curls?

I have really curly hair naturally, it is also pretty long, a little past my shoulders. I want to wear those beautiful larger curls that have become so popular, but what would be the easiest way to achieve this. Any info on this would be helpful:) thanksHow do I get my naturally spirally curly hair to relax a little into smoother and looser curls?
with some silicone or leave in conditioning cream on your hands, take sections of your hair and twist around your finger so it produces a ringlet and let your hair dry naturally! How do I get my naturally spirally curly hair to relax a little into smoother and looser curls?
Use the plastic, magnetic snap on rollers with the smooth barrel and roll half way up or just roll the ends. If you want the curls to last all day apply a setting lotion to damp hair and then roll it up. Let dry naturally.
you can put on velcro rollers while your hair is damp and let it dry with the rollers on (make sure you put on some mousse or gel beforehand so they stay that way).... the other option is using a curling iron to shape your curls however you want, but this is a little more damaging to your hair.... whatever you do, DO NOT chemically relax your hair!!!

a third option is to blowdry it with a round brush the size of the curls you want... keep the hair rolled around the brush and blow it dry so it keeps the shape... then un-roll it carefully and put on some serum or something to keep it from getting frizzy...

    good luck!!
I would not suggest using a curling iron as it's heat and it will damage your ends. I wear very light fluffy curls that go just past my shoulders. I would go to a African American salon ask for a Wash/Deep Conditioner and Set. They will wash your hair and then set it with the rollers. You'll have to sit under the under the dryer anywhere from 1hr to 2 hrs depending upon your hair texture (how fast can it dry). If you wrap your hair at night, the curls as well as the volume will stay longer versus having to curl your own hair every day (curling iron) or every night (rollers).

What kind of water is better for curly hair, hard or soft?

I have naturally curly hair, but since I moved to Brooklyn about a year ago my hair does not curl like it used to. I use all the same hair products and every time I try to wear my hair curly it is limp and hangs straight. When I was living in NJ or visiting friend in Buffalo I had curly hair that bounced and was defined. Is there something I can do to my water in Brooklyn so I can have nice, bouncy, defined curls? What kind of water is better for curly hair, hard or soft?
Yeah, water type can definitely have an effect on curls. Chemicals can too. You can get a shower filter and it will help lots ($20-30 at home depot or lowes). These maps are cool:

idk. but i think if you want that shape again then you should try after getting out of the shower blow dry your hair and as you blow dry it make sure you wrap the hair around a brush that looks like this

    http://www.ll.georgetown.edu/federal/jud/a>

as you are doing that take the blow dryer and put it rite against the brush and the hair. after the hair is completely dry put all of the products in that you usually add.

What is the best shampoo for both straight and curly hair?

I have curly semi curly hair and straighten it often and sometimes I wear it curly depending on the weather. I dont want to have to buy two different kinds of shampoo and conditioners. What is the best shampoo products for both? What is the best shampoo for both straight and curly hair?
anything organic...never use the junk w/ chemicals in them:)What is the best shampoo for both straight and curly hair?
Because you straighten it and because you'll want sleek bouncy curls I'd go with a moisturizing shampoo. No need for two different shampoos or conditioners. So I'd suggest either Biolage or Kerastase. Biolage being the cheaper of the too. Biolage is sold at Target and other drug stores as well as beauty supply stores. Kerastase is sold mainly at hair salons. I have also seen it at Nordstrom Rack for alot cheaper.

    Hope this helps.

Ok uhmm i have very curly hair also... and all those ppl sugestion layers there crazy bc its just gonna make your hair much shorter when your hair is wet and its gonna be even frizzier than its is now... trust me it happened to meh.. and a cute hair style is take the front of your hair and make a corn-roll over the front of your hair and then pin up like the back with bobby-pins like soo all your curls are on top of your head. its look very cute when u do it in person than it sound like on the computer :]What are easy and quick hairstyles for curly hair?
hey i don't have curly hair but i did some research and i founf many hairstyles for it. try brushing it then like put a nice hair band on it and let it hang. or try brushing it and and putting it in and a pony tail if you want to dress it up alittle and put on a nice head band or hairband same as putting it down.
Use daily elements lanza shampoo %26amp; conditioner %26amp; some leave in conditioner will stop the hair become frizzy throughout the day (you do not need a lot)

Choppy layers will reduce the weight of the hair so less frizz
I have the same thing. I bought some hair gel, its blue, but there are yellow, and pink too. I cant think of the name right now, but once you get out of the shower, put some in and put your hair up in a curly bun. In about 30 minutes, take your hair out and put a little more in and it wont frizze and it will look bouncier!
First of all, you have to find someone who really knows how to cut curly hair. Then, you should be able to wash and crunch and go.
Well get some hair Mousse and styling gel and a blow dryer and use a blow dryer and put all in your hair and blow dry it and while doing so scruch together and you should get perfect ringlets!!!!
Get a layered cut to lighten the load of curls and use a defrizzing cream on it.
get layers and in the mornings just get it wet......towel dry briefly......add some leave in conditioner.... and dont touch or scrunch untill completely dry.....the curl will et frizzy and do weird things.....trust me I love my curls
    bald?
Don't use too much product on the top of the hair, moisturize the ends and use a diffuser when you blow dry and spritz a little hairspray and it should be good to go. Make sure you use a good condition, wash every other day and scrub your head. Or you could always put it in a bun.
    use cotton balls and glue
Ask your hairdresser about getting a relaxer treatment. It takes some of the curl out and makes combing your hair a lot easier. I got it and it makes doing my hair so much easier.
dont get somthing too short and make sure you have at least some layers in it so it doesnt look too thick. the to control the curls just use some of the panteene pro-v ice shine mousse after showering.

How do you style and care your curly hair?

On the styling part. I use gel but the after I put it on it looses volume but the gel helps keep the frizz off. when i style my hair it looks sometimes oily and lifeless. How do you style and care your curly hair?
I use a lot. I shower in the morning and use curly hair shampoo and i use lots of the Frizz Ease Curl Around products and then Herbal Essences mousse that comes in a purple bottle-- i couldn't live without it. Gel is okay but mousee keeps it alive lolHow do you style and care your curly hair?
Maybe you should try a different gel or cream - one that's not so oily. I have very curly hair, too. I put on only a little syling gel and then use a curling iron to make it smooth and give it some lift on top. There are also some sprays that will add shine to your hair after you get it styled. I do understand the problem of curly hair. Everyone who doesn't have it thinks it would be great - but it isn't.
    Secret for maintaining curly hair:

Shampoo only once a week, or else it dries out the hair and you'll get frizz. But, condition every day and let it sit in for a few minutes.

Also, when you dry your hair don't rub the towel around, what you should do is kinda ';scrunch'; your hair, otherwise you'll get frizz.

Next, use some light spray or whatever you're using and make sure you put it in while your hair is still damp, let it dry, and you're hair should be good for the day!

Hope that helps, it helped me.

What do you do to style your curly hair?

I have very fine but curly hair and I was wondering what products you guys use to improve the look, texture and quality of the curls in your hair. I'm not really wanting to have it permed (that's overboard) because I do like to style it straight. I use a wash n' curl shampoo and conditioner, but it doesn't really moisturize my hair. Pantene Pro-V and Curl.Life shampoo products are too heavy and weigh down my curls. Any suggestions? What do you do to style your curly hair?
I have used many expensive line and this is the only thing tthat works. I have EXTREMELY curly hair and to make my curls stay and be defined, I use Herbal Essense CURL shampoo and conditioner, then John Freeda serum, put my hair in a bun, go to sleep with it that way. Then when I wake up I put Herbal Essense gel (scruch it) and hairspray in my hair. The curls stay beautiful, soft and defined.

Good luckWhat do you do to style your curly hair?
u can stratin it if u have a stirghtner
    use a curling iron
Try Garnier Fructise. I have straight hair, but I think they have a shampoo for curly hair.
Visit www.mixedchicks.net, they have their own line of products for curly hair. In addition, if you buy their shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner, it will be less than $50 and you only pay shipping for one item. (As of 07/01/07, they are temporarily sold out of the shampoo, however, you can still purchase the other items). You can read the testimonials also and Tracee Ellis Ross recommends these products for her super curly locks! Good luck!

What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use for curly hair?

Ive got natural curly hair, and I dont want it to be all frizz. what product should i use for it to make it more '; managable'; and better looking and less dryWhat is the best shampoo and conditioner to use for curly hair?
you should uses bumble and bumble it works really well

you are really cute by the way %26lt;3What is the best shampoo and conditioner to use for curly hair?
i have curly hair very very curly. i keep it well conditioned and you should always use a moisture shampoo and conditioner..try Dove moisture shampoo and condtioner or Garnier Fructis Moisture shampoo %26amp; conditioner. Also keep a homemade spray of any cream rinse, styling spray and water of equal amounts and spray on your hair in between washing.
So I tried John frieda shampoo and then conditioner frizz-ease and it makes the hair soft... but how is that going to weigh it down? The best thing is to not wash your hair at all. The natural oils keep the hair heavy. A little touch of smelly shampoo can keep the hair smelling nice
every one's hair is different and not all products will work, you will have to dry some out and see what works best. For curls that frizz Creams and Lotions work best ! here are a few I used and like.

    Sunsilk Captivating curls
