Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:
*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons
*Don't shampoo every day.
*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.
*Never use a brush on dry hair, only untangle when the hair is wet.
*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.
*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types
*Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber or t-shirts instead.
*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.
*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying
For specific products for your hair type you鈥檒l want to explore the forums at:

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. The most popular product for frizz on these forums is Curly Hair Solutions' Curl Keeper. Curlies rave about it!
If you want to run out and pick something up locally, I recommend trying LA Looks or Herbal essences gels (drugstore); Biotera gel and cream (Sally's Beauty Supply); Suave Naturals/vo5 conditioners (really cheap); Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Condish (semi-cheap but super moisturizing; found at organics/specialty stores); red Cream of Nature shampoo (drugstore again); and L'oreal out of bed weightless texturizer (black tub, use under gel). These are all good things to try, and be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products.
Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. http://www.ylcf.org/gotcurl/How can I calm the frizz down in my naturally curly hair?
John Frieda products are great. That's what I use on my hair, and it's naturally curly with frizz too. Calms the frizz and enhances the curls beautifully. Try the No-Frizz hair serum, and Dream Curls spray. Use the products when your hair is still wet, and I find it best not to style with heat. I let mine air-dry, that also keeps the frizz down, and keeps the shine. Good luck!
I have straight hair and it often gets frizzy.
I found this product one day, that works amazingly.
Pantene Texture %26amp; shine Defining Pomade. -$4 at drugstores.
This is used to texturize your hair, but my hair dresser told me to used it to tame the frizziness and the fly-away hairs.
If you don't like Pantene, try Redken, they are bound to have something that will tame the frizziness.
Bed Head also has some really good products for things like this.
Hope I helped :)
