What kind of products are the best for curly hair and what are the names of those hair products? What I mean is mousses, gels, hairsprays, etc.
I want a product that can define my curls and make them silky rather than dried out and frizzy. I also hate how after I use hairspray my hair gets too hard or sticky.
Any suggestions? What do most people with curly hair use on their hair?
i dont have curly, curly hair, its just sort of waves, but when i dont feel like doing it straight, after i take a shower i let it dry just a little bit, not all the way through, because it gets frizzy, and then i put that John Frieda (im a brunnette) Brunnette mouse, enough to where my waves stay where they are supposed to but not to where my hair is sticky and gross looking. sometimes i also put some gel along with the mouse. it helps. What do most people with curly hair use on their hair?
Dep gel. Not sticky or flammable, keeps down frizz. It is made by schwarzkopf. If you can find their osis products, they are better, but cost more.
Before combing, work into the hair on the back of your head, then toss back the front and work some more into the front and sides. Comb through. Tousle with fingers.
Air dry for best handling, too.
WASH YOUR HAIR WITH CONDITONER AND DONT COMB OR PUT ANYTHING IN IT AFTER
I use a good shampoo for dry hair and then tresemme ';restore';
leave in conditioning cream. comb it back and then flip your head back and forth a couple times. leave it alone and don't touch it during the day.
i use shock waves mousse my hair says soft and it's not expensive and makes my hair really curly then to keep my curls looking great during the night i use shock waves spray to keep the frizz down DONT use hair spray !
BIOSILK !!!!!!!! Smoothes the frizzies, makes hair silky, doesn't make it sticky.
A great product for defining curls is Paul Mitchell Express,Style Round Trip Liquid Curl Definer, $12 in salons.
If you use a dolop of this curl defining cream to enhance your ringlets withought making them stiff.
Or if you have wavy hair use Aussie Awsome Volume Styling Cream, $3 drugstores. Finger comb mousse through damp hair to bring out natual texture and keep hair soft.
You can also try out some bedhead products.
First off make sure you use a really good conditioner - something from the salon instead of the of the market.
To get really good curls I start out with mousse (Down Under Naturals Ultimate Hold Mousse) and scrunch it through wet/damp hair (fresh out of the shower works best). Then I spritz a little gel into it (Fructis Style Psshht Gel, Spiral Effect). Scrunch hair a little bit and then blow dry it upside down using a Diffuser (Diffusers can be found at most department stores like Walmart for around $10-$20 or so, they just fit over the end of your blow dryer and are the best thing for getting those great curls, especially if your hair tends to friz if you don't go all out on it).
You can also spray some regular hair spray at the very last to hold it place once you've styled or pinned it.
Hopefully this works well for you, have fun and good luck.
