How do I make my frizzy, curly hair look sleek and shiny?

I have red, curly, frizzy hair, and i want to be able to make it smooth without damaging it with straighteners everyday. help! How do I make my frizzy, curly hair look sleek and shiny?
You can have your hair ';permanently straightened'; at a salon.

Pros:

really straight hair

Cons:

not actually permanent (roots will grow back curly in 4-6 months)

expensive (about $200)

really damaging (esp. for permed or dyed hair)

So that's an option, but I really think the best choice is to experiment with different products and wearing your hair naturally. Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. A great tool for finding curly stylists in your area: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

*Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels on hair; use linen, paper towels, or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying.

*Once completely dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

For hair type specific products check out these forums:

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. I would recommend something, but I don鈥檛 know your hair type. :)

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. You could get a relaxing and glossing treatment at the salon. The result is straight, shiny hair for three months! Pricey, but at least you're not tugging your hair straight with a blowdryer and then flattening it with a flat iron every day.

They also make leave in conditioners and heat-activated styling products (Thermasilk) that are meant to protect your hair from excessive styling.
get sunsilk defrizz shampoo and conditioner and herbal senescence's extra hold mouse ..when you condition your hair leave some of the conditioner in it especially around the spots that gets the most fizzy then while your hair is wet put about 3 hand fulls of mouse in your hair..do your hair in layer while mousing for less poofyness sleeping on it is good as well.....this is if you wanna wok with them curl not against them...i have the curse of the frizzes as well this seems to work for me.
well.i would recommend a relaxer from your hair dresser but if your really wanting to not damage your hair thats prolly not best for you...although when i got mine it didnt get damaged that bad so you might still try it.other wise just tons n tons of product is about the only other thing :-/
i sometimes have the same problem and hair products don't work all the time, so i would use baby oil (not too much or it'll look greasy) then use a blow drying Straightener. It does help!! :D

I got this idea from a friend who also did the same thing.
It's really not possible. Believe me. Either it's going to look frizzy from the heat damage, or it's going to look greasy with products.

Try embracing the curly and you may find it's much better! :)
whewn you get uot of the shower or after you get your haire wet
