What is the best shampoo/conditioner for curly hair?

I've tried a lot of things and most don't work. I found I like natural stuff. Burt's Bees is great but its too expensive. Is there anything that works well but isn't something you buy from a salon or something cheaper. What is the best shampoo/conditioner for curly hair?
At drugstores the best conditioners are Suave Naturals or v05 (cheap-o-rama). For shampoo I would try the red Cream of Nature--it's very gentle and good for curly hair. Also check out the hair products at your local organic or health food store (you probably have a whole foods). My favorite from WF is Audrey Organics: either the honeysuckle rose or the white camelia (sp) conditioners (just cheap). The conditioner chronicle thread here is very useful:

Here are some basic tips for curly hair that you might find helpful:

*Try to find a stylist who knows how to work with curly hair. You can find ratings by region here: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlsalons

*Don't shampoo every day.

*Comb conditioner through hair in the shower.

*Never use a brush on dry hair, only untangle when the hair is wet.

*Apply styling products to dripping wet hair. Scrunch or twirl hair to achieve desired shape.

*Use styling products suited for your hair type. Don鈥檛 know yours? http://www.naturallycurly.com/hair-types

*Avoid terrycloth towels; use microfiber or t-shirts instead.

*Air dry or use a diffuser with your blowdryer.

*Don't touch (or brush!) your hair while it鈥檚 drying

For specific products for your hair type you鈥檒l want to explore the forums at:

There you can find others with the same hair type and try out some of their favorite products. I would recommend something, but I don鈥檛 know your hair type. :)

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair. Give it a shot and check it out:

BedHead - Curls Rock

I used to have long naturally curly hair and that's what my hairdresser told me to use. It was awesome! Let the conditioner stay in your hair for a little bit before rinsing.

Then I'd use BedHead Curl Enhancer to make sure it didn't frizz. Not a lot though, and scrunch it in when it's damp.
John Freida make a good line of products especially for curly hair. They aren't quite as good as Burt's Bees but are far cheaper.
