Does anyone know any good advice for long curly hair?

I have long curly hair and I really wanna know if anyone has any good advice, products. Also are silicone shampoos bad? Im using the jhon frieda one right now.Does anyone know any good advice for long curly hair?
haha i have curly hair too soooo here's what i do

only wash it every other day, but condition it every day!

the redken fresh curls line of products is amazing

and deep condition it once or twice a week - i use redken all soft heavy cream, it makes your hair like incredibly soft

use a silicon serum when it's wet, john frieda makes one that i use, and then use a styling product for curly hair; redken, garnier, and john frieda all make good ones. just mix and match till you find a combo that makes your curls look the way you want

aaannndd most importantly, unless you are blowing your hair out to straighten it, let your hair air dry! blow drying takes out moisture which is terrible for curls b/c it will make them look frizzy. just twist your hair into a bun while it's wet and let it dry, and then let it down when it's dry.Does anyone know any good advice for long curly hair?
I guess it depends what your issue is with your hair! I have long curly hair too, it gets dry really easy, I love bed head moisture maniac.. It smells really good and keeps it happy. Umm, to give my curls definition I use bed head creative genius and just scrunch it right in wet hair... Keeps my hair curly all day instead of having it be really curly in the morning and then flat-ish and frizzy at the end of the day.. That garnier curl spray gel stuff is nice for hold too. When I want to straighten it I use bedhead control freak serum and comb it through wet hair... So yeah, haha. That's my advice. Defuser when you blowdry or it'll get upset! I don't know anything about silicon shampoos, but I hear good things about the john frieda, I wouldn't worry about it.
I did not like the John Frieda line for curly hair. :P If you want to run out and pick something up locally, I recommend trying LA Looks or Herbal essences gels (drugstore); Biotera gel and cream (Sally's Beauty Supply); Suave Naturals/vo5 conditioners (really cheap); Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Condish (semi-cheap but super moisturizing, found at organics/specialty stores); red Cream of Nature shampoo (drugstore again); and L'oreal out of bed weightless texturizer (black tub, use under gel). These are all good things to try, and be sure to tinker around with amounts and how you use any products.

*Once dry scrunch out any crunchy texture.

Lastly, it has made my hair so much better since I started the curly girl method! I used to almost never wear it down (it was a frizz/poof ball), but now I have pretty, shiny curls. ~:) It鈥檚 pretty radical鈥攏o sulfates (shampoo) or silicones鈥攂ut it鈥檚 so great for curly hair.
