Can people with naturally curly hair get nice looking dreadlocks?

I am a mix of african american and japanese. I'm a male and am predominantly black. My hair is pretty soft and curly, can I still get dreads that look nice and can be maintained like people with more coarse hair?Can people with naturally curly hair get nice looking dreadlocks?

you can get dreadlocks. there are full japanese that have straight hair and dreadlocks. youll have an easier time than those with straight hair, but it will take longer for yours to dread than those with coarser hair. :D
