Can naturally curly hair get more curly after years of straightening?

I've straightened my hair for years and have recently decided to go back to my natural curls, but my curls aren't as curly as they used to be. So i'm wondering will they get progressively more curly again over time? Can naturally curly hair get more curly after years of straightening?
It's probably because you got older. To a lot curly people, their curls tend to loosen up after they get older. Unfortunately, it probably won't get curlier.

If you did not use a heat protection spray/serum when flat ironing your hair, that may also contribute too. When you hair grows longer, cut the heat damaged ends off.

HTH :)Can naturally curly hair get more curly after years of straightening?
When hair grows out your scalp its a natural form (alpha keratin) when you change the style it becomes (beta keratin) so natural hair which is not styled by the use of blow-drying, straightening, curling, etc will always remain how it was when it grew,

you may need to take into account your diet, age, are you pregnant, are you on any medication which may result in less curly hair?, products your using? or the simple face how long is your hair, the longer it is the more of a rough time its had been washed dryed, styled etc,

you could try using a Diffuser (attachment which fits on a hairdryer) and Mouse once shampood and conditioned.

Hope this helps
Hair changes over the years. My hair used to be silky smooth and had loose pretty waves on the ends. In my teens, it started getting coarser and frizzy and I had quite the battle with it - Thank Goodness for blow dryers! Now my hair is is fragile, no longer coarse and if I don't take care of it, it dries and breaks off- Thank goodness for Salon products. However, keep in mind that part of your hair might still have relaxer in it. In other words, your straightened hair might not have all grown out yet. Your hair might still get curly as your hair continues to grow.

One more thing...my hair stylist said that if you leave your hair all one length, the weight of it will stretch some of the curls in some, making it look less curly. If you add layers, it should curl up some more.
That happened with me, yeah they can grow back but with time, and extra care

Try not to use shampoo every time you wash your hair, like use shampoo once a week because shampoo takes away the natural oils your hair makes. Use conditioner instead; Buy good products for damaged hair like protene, tresemme, etc,

search the reviews on google and see which one you like better

And lastly don't straighten or blow-dry your hair; It's gonna make it harder for the curls to come back
