How do you style a 3 year old's curly hair into a ballet bun?

I want to put my daughter's hair into a bun for ballet, but its so wispy and curly!

What is the best technique to do this? How do you style a 3 year old's curly hair into a ballet bun?
I have extremely curly hair! What i sugest from experience is to buy a straightening iron and straighten her hair, then wrap it in a bun by twisting the hair then slowly coiling it. Use a tight hairtie (or scrunchy whatever you want to call it). Use a few bobby pinns for the extra hair that falls. use one or two sprits of hairspray NOT jell. How do you style a 3 year old's curly hair into a ballet bun?
try styling when wet...smooth some hair silk in and secure it in a ponytail, then curl the ponytail around itself...secure with a few bobby pins.
my daughter did ballet from the age of three, and has curly hair....fortunately her hair naturally forms sausage curls, and was longish which made it easier.

We put her hair in a pony tail first...wet the brush so her hair is less frizzy....... then brush her pony tail around your forefinger, to make a neat sausage curl, and then just wrap it around and around the centre of her pony tail until it is all twisted into a bun. secure it with another hair tie around the whole bun, and then just a couple of bobby pins to secure the edges down close to her head. For special occassions she would get a squirt of hari spray, but only for concerts, etc...wasn't necessary ordinarily.

Good luck.
Do it when it's wet. Get a water bottle and spray her hair down until it's alllllllll damp.

Then, if her hair is longer than her shoulders, put it in a ponty tail, and then twist the ponytail and then turn it around the base and either pin it or put another pony tail on.. or a scrunchie.

If her hair is short, when you put the hair int oa ponytail, find the center, and spread the hair out around the ponytail.... and then pin it... I hope that makes sense.
I do my daughter hair when it's wet, makes it easier. I dont pull it totally straight though, I like it to keep some of its natural texture. then I put it in an ponytail, then twist the pony and wrap it around itself to form a bun, then secure with another elastic and wrap a ribbon to hide the elastic or buy one that mathces her hair color
